This little charger does exactly what I needed it to do and it does it well.
I'm not normally one to give glowing reviews but this little charger works great. I have several big name chargers that I use. There are times however they simply refuse to charge batteries that have dropped below a certain voltage. Sometimes that kind of caution is warranted but not all the time. In my case I just replaced the batteries in a battery backup unit for someone. A few weeks later they noticed that the battery backup unit was off and would not turn on. It turned out the battery backup unit itself had failed. It continued to run until the batteries were depleted and stayed that way for a few weeks. This isn't good for SLA batteries but it's not the end of the world either. knowing the batteries were actually brand new I pulled them out to charge them on my bench. I already know airing on the side of caution my big name chargers would just refuse to charge batteries that low. That's were this little gem of a charger shines. It’s cautious but not paranoid. If the SLA battery is just extremely low and not shorted it’s going to try and charge it. Which is exactly what I needed it to do in this case. Some tips if your trying to charge extremely low SLA's (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries.!!! I am not a professional... The following are not instructions… Use at your own risk !!!!!! Only charge batteries you know are in good condition… faulty or shorted batteries could explode !!!First tip:This charger runs hot. The case is a simple pressure fit. It comes apart easily. Make a perforated non conductive case and aim a fan at it… just saying… Hot electronics are short lived electronics…Second tip:When you connect this charger to extremely low batteries it will give you a green light like the batteries are already charged. This is normal. It takes some time to shock an extremely dead battery back to life. Leave it for a while. If the battery is indeed good the light will eventually go red which means it's charging. Now you just have to wait until the light turns green again and you're all charged up.Sometimes certain batteries stay charging longer then normal. In this case I check the battery for physical signs of distress. If the battery is hot or the sides of the battery are swelling or deformed… STOP CHARGING IT IMMEDIATELY! The battery is faulty. Mark it as such and take it to a recycling center. If the battery is cool to warm to the touch and the sides of the battery are not swelling or deformed then I let it keep charging. Before I do though I disconnect the charger and test it manually to see what the charge level is. I use the following tester to do that:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07759SLYP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Third Tip:I have had some batteries that seem to want to charge forever. When I disconnect them from the charger and test them they say they are 100% charged. Clearly there is something off or they would get a green light from the charger. I mention this because it may happen to you using this charger. I don’t know if it’s something quirky about the charger or the battery. The batteries are not deformed or hot when they charge and they are not overcharging so I keep using them and they work normally.

Much Better.
So far this type is working better than the previous one I purchased as far as knowing it is functioning. With mini clips for battery terminals and indicator lights make this more informative. Previous type is a plug in with no indicator lights, had to use a volt/ amp meter to determine it was working.
