Buy this book, it’s a gem!
I have followed Trescott’s AIP protocol since the release of her first book in 2014, so I was anxious to order her latest offering. Her positive approach of “nutrient dense” foods appeals to me, as I was raised by an Adele Davis “Let’s Eat Right” aficionado in the 60s and 70s, with an overlay of Dr. Bieler‘s “Food Is Your Best Medicine”. Restrictions and long lists of “don’ts” can be tiresome, and I believe food is one of our great resources and a joy. I was not disappointed with her latest release as it is as visually beautiful as it is well organized. Not only does she include her basic, go-to standards like bone broth and no-mato sauce, but she treats us to many more adventures I had not seen in other AIP books. I got recipe testing immediately, and the horseradish sauce became an instant staple, along with creamy mushroom soup and her famous bacon-liver pate. The gorgeous fish curry soup that dons the cover was my first foray, and I was not disappointed. When my son complained about the bitter taste of turnip, I quickly substituted sweet potato to excellent effect. The broad range of items, including appetizers, smoothies, entrees divided into meat type, and lovely not-too-sweet desserts has kept me busy. While no single cookbook can (or ever has!) address every palate or sensitivity, I appreciate the way Trescott offers substitutions and encourages readers to experiment with recipes. What puts this book over the top are it’s extensive resources, such as 5 different meal plans with shopping lists, nutrient source tables, and clear instructions designed to inform and empower the reader. Thank you!

AMAZING Resource & My New Favorite Cookbook!
I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease over a year ago, and found tremendous relief from my autoimmune symptoms through the autoimmune protocol. I feel better than I've felt in years! With that said, I am always on the lookout for new autoimmune protocol cookbooks, and The Nutrient Dense Kitchen is my new favorite! The author does an amazing job explaining the importance of nutrient density, as well as a great overview of the autoimmune protocol. Best part of all? The recipes are easy to read, picky eater friendly, and accompanied by gorgeous pictures! Bonus? A whole meal planning chapter complete with shopping lists. Whether you are on the autoimmune protocol, or you are just trying to get a clean, nutrient dense diet, this cookbook is for you!

Incredible!
I love this book! I had chronic hives all over my body with no known cause. I was miserable! (And itchy!) I’ve done paleo for several years previously but my lifestyle really had switched to high stress, fast food, more processed food. I went full autoimmune protocol first, then found this book as a happy medium. I love the modifications and the fact that this book teaches you it’s all about how many nutrients you can get in one meal! It’s eating for health that you can actually enjoy eating!!! I posted a family favorite with this review.

Best AIP cookbook out there
LOVE LOVE LOVE this cookbook! I have celiac and an autoimmune thyroid condition and multiple food sensitivities, so I’ve used many AIP cookbooks for recipe ideas. This one is by far the most beautiful (photos of every recipe) and the best in terms of appealing recipes that do not require a large arsenal of exotic ingredients. So excited to cook my way through this! A final note - I bought this used to save a few dollars, but it would have been worth every penny to buy new - hardcover, full page color photo for every recipe, and beautifully organized.

amazing recipes
I have not yet read the information at the beginning of this book, but had made quite a few recipes which I found very flavorful and easy to make. If you appreciate quality ingredients, then they should not be hard for you to find when using them to cook. All recipes have beautiful pictures and the quality of the book is beautiful as well.

This makes the AIP diet so much easier!
I'm so glad I found this cookbook and wish I'd had it right when I started my AIP. With so many things off limits I was struggling to adjust at first. Initially, I bought the book because I was interested in the information about which foods were most nutrient dense and helpful for people with autoimmunity. Then I started flipping through the recipes and couldn't wait to try them. I've cooked several now and am really pleased. I no longer feel like I'm missing out on good food which makes this diet (way of life?) so much more sustainable. As I write this I'm eating some of the pate from the recipe on page 72 and it's actually good, even though I don't really like liver. Thank you Mickey, for making my life so much nicer. And for making liver taste good. I'm sure I'll keep using these recipes even after I've made it through the reintroduction phase.
