Great functionality works flawlessly.
Usually tech like this doesn’t work or doesn’t last as it is designed, but everything about this. Palm reader security lock is truly worth it. It was easy to install. The picture quality is excellent. The voice quality is excellent and it looks great on your door. The ecosystem with the rest of the cameras made by Eufy are great. The best quality that I have ever used it is well worth the price. I highly recommend.

A Worthwhile Investment
It reads your palm accurately and quickly. Installation was simple. Works great and I eliminated having a separate smart lock and doorbell camera, so now just one app. The hardware is robust and provides a secure feeling. There is a keypad and physical key providing options in the event that something goes wrong but so far it’s been perfect. Very happy with it.

Good device.
Eufy customer service looked at the issue and found out that my Homebase 3 is overloaded (too many devices). After removing the lock and adding it to WiFi, most of the connection issues seem to have been resolved. The palm open is a hit or miss, but definitely happy it connects when I need it.Original review -I was excited when this was announced, but it’s been a frustrating experience. The installation was straightforward, but it’s extremely unreliable. It stays offline most of the time. Palm reader is a hit or miss. Only thing that works properly is the key code. If I wanted that, there are a ton of options. Notifications are also either missed or so delayed, it makes this useless. Asked customer service for help, but they have not been able to help at all. No other device in the home is so flaky.

Great lock overall, especially if you have a good use case for all its features.
The media could not be loaded. I was very excited about this lock and it mostly lives up to expectations. It does what its advertised to do and it does it well. Once you know where to place your palm, it's easy to always get it right the first time and have the door unlock quickly. The palm vein unlock method itself is very cool and will make you feel like you're living in the future and should be a fun thing to show off to others at first too.The camera also does a good job for those who want a 2 in 1 combo or don't want to replace their old dumb doorbell. I won't be using the video doorbell feature for monitoring because I already have a video doorbell though. But I still wanted it because my parents stay with me sometimes and I don't have windows near the front door or a peep hole so the screen on the inside is a very useful feature for them so they can see who is at the door without having to open it. So for anybody in my position with elderly or kids, I think the version with the screen can be very useful to have.As for my dislikes. Two things stick out to me. First is that the lock motor is slow. Some new locks have much faster motors to turn the deadbolt nowadays. The Eufy on the other hand still uses a very slow one. Not a big deal, but it's a minor annoyance because I would like to see progress. The other is that the lock won't give you an option to turn on the interior screen automatically whether it senses motion or someone rings the doorbell. I know this was probably done intentionally to save battery. But they should give us to the option to have the screen turn on with one method or another so we can already see who is there when we approach the door.Other than that I am a Home Assistant user and integrated this lock into HA using Matter over WiFi. Only the lock and battery is exposed. You won't be able to expose the camera stream over Matter though. But for those that use Google Home or Alexa, the live stream is available. Control is fast(around ~1.5 seconds) but won't feel instant. That's just a minor nitpick on my part since I want everything to be as fast as turning on and off a light lol. I've had no issues like random disconnects so far. But it has only been a day so we'll see. Same goes for the battery life. No idea again since it has only been a day.All that being said I think it's still deserving of a perfect score because the main features of this lock are executed pretty well. I have a few nitpicks with it but I don't think it should be knocked down because of that. Compared to what is available right now, it's pretty much one of a kind with all that it has to offer. Just be sure that you want all these features because there are definitely cheaper options out there if you only want a palm lock or a lock/video doorbell combo. But for those that want it all, I think this is our only option and I can at least say that it does it well.

Poor Quality Control and Customer Service
Let me start by saying that I own about 12 Eufy products(2 scales, breast pumps, 2 baby monitors, and 8 different video security products). While I like the features their products offer, the quality is hit or miss; especially for the price. It feels like the more innovative features and selling points a product is, the more likely it won't function properly. When things go wrong there is little to no help from Eufy support. The Eufy Familock S3 Max looks great and feels sturdy out of the box. However, after setting it up, I went to the app and noticed the video was heavily obscured by the lock housing. I wrote into Eufy support and included various pictures of the issue. I decided to call when I didn't recieve a response. One the intial call I was told the issue had been bubbled up to the engineering team and to call back in 24 hours. The next day I was told that my device had a new "fish eye" lens and that it was functioning normally. I sent Eufy another email containing screen shots and links to various product reviews showing that those Familocks were not obscurded to the extent mine was, even with the fish eye lens. Again no response. Finally out of desperation I ordered a completely new lock. I installed them both and took screen shots. I called Eufy to explain I was going to send over additional images at which point they said, "no need, your lock is defective." It took 8 calls over 7 days, consulting with the product engineers multiple times, posting for help in their online community, submitting requesting pictures of my installation process, sharing others' product reviews showing that my lock was malfunctioning, and finally buying another $400 lock to prove that my item was defective. I personally feel like a ~$400 lock should come with more than an 18 month warranty, so if you still decide to go with this product( or any Eufy product) I recommend buying an extended warranty. I also recommend doing a quick google search of "Malfunctioning/broken Eufy Product Name".**Update**Eufy Customer Support reached out in order to resolve the issue. I responded that the resolution was acceptable, but then I recieved a message saying that resolution offer had been generated in error. On top of spending 7 days trying to get Eufy Support to recognise the defect, I've spent an ongoing 6 days trying to recieve the proper resolution they initially offered. I had low expectation before an attempt at a resolution, now I'm completely losing faith. Eufy does not stand by its word.
