This is amazing tribute to Da Vinci and aviation. The build was short and sweet, fun to mess with once built, and makes for a very tasteful display. I love it.Also I love that LEGO is doing more affordable black-box sets, especially in the $50 range. The big sets are great, but who has the money, time, and space to display them? This is perfect.

I eagerly waited for the shipment for this kit only to have it either not properly delivered by USPS or it was stolen. After purchasing it from another retailer, I got to building it as soon as I could. This is the kind of build I like. It was not difficult, but you have to pay attention to placement of pieces otherwise, this will not flap. It is very satisfying getting to the final stage of setting the fabric wings and pulling the "trigger" to activate the movement. Even mini da Vinci is fun because he holds his quill and hand drawn sketch of said build. Highly recommend, especially for those that bought Mona Lisa.

I'm building kits that remind me of who I am (as a self-treatment during a hard personal time... Lego and similar models have become my therapy). I'm a former hang-glider among other things (and fan of the classic DaVinci/Michelangelo battle for the Pope's favor... read The Agony and the Ecstasy for a beautiful glimpse of those times). I'm a medical/scientific illustrator and artist who relates to this conflict of passion and mind). This model now sits on my desk as a reminder of who I am.As to the kit, it's quick and simply great. It sits on my desk as I try to figure out what to do in my current situation. THIS is who I am, and it's so amazingly cool that Lego has turned Leonardo's sketches into a model.It would never fly, but it's a daily reminder of the power of ideas, whether they fly or not. Amazing kit. Oh, and it looks way better when finished than the photos show.

This item was purchased as a gift for my adult son. He asked for it mainly because the figurine is "awesome." I was pleasantly surprised when it came, the box is a little bigger and heavier than expected. I really can't wait to see it put together and I know he is going to love it!

Such a good Lego set! I got this set and it toke me about 2 hours and it is a little hard but a fun build anyway! The wings flapping is awesome the very back flap is not flapping the best, but it still works good. And the way we got Leonardo da vinci’s mini-figure is awesome! I would really recommend this set for anyone! Really good for a present or for something else!

It's just a beautiful set. It's easy to build, great for adults and looks great on display.
