Worked great!
We used this to protect the carpet during our move, and it worked great! It stayed in place and removed easily and cleanly when we were done.A couple spots on the stairs had a hole because the dolly caught the edge, but other than that, it held up to the furniture and us.Application was difficult, however. I tried to apply it myself, but it's so sticky, it just kept rolling in on itself when I tried to put it down the stairs. So I enlisted my husband's help, and he was able to pull it straight out so I could stick it in place. Much easier that way!Overall, it met our needs, and I would recommend it.

WORKS GREAT - IGNORE NEGATIVE REVIEWS IF YOU'RE UNSURE
Seems to work GREAT for me. I saw some of the reviews stating it doesn’t stick and was admittedly reluctant initially. Here’s the facts. I had new carpeting installed (low pile) less than a week prior. This film arrived fast. I installed this in key areas I wanted. This film STICKS to the carpet and WORKS as intended. It WORKED GREAT. I can pull it up if I want and there is NO residue NOR any other issues of sticking excessively like some complaints I’ve read with of films sold by other manufacturers. It can be pulled off just fine if you need to. INSTALLATION: As with any of these films, it takes just a little practice initially. I laid a 4-6 inch strip down to initialize it sticking sufficiently enough to pull / unwind the roll onto the carpet. I started doing this and had NO PROBLEMS. Yes these films stick to itself (sticky side to sticky side) if you accidentally fold it over onto itself on the edges or elsewhere. I did this once and just had to trim that section off. I made a little misjudgment in positioning and it lifts off the carpet and allows me to reposition it. I can say with certainly that the negative complaints of it not sticking to the carpet were NOT experienced. I think the ONLY issue about all these films is your application technique. Once you lay it down right …. perfect. If I need more, will I buy this again - YES.

This stuff makes zero sense
This stuff is sticky on the OUTSIDE. Backwards compared to normal tape or other brands. So to use it you have to take it out of the plastic bag that its stuck to, then fight to get this crap to not stick to itself because that's all it wants to do. Hard to peel off. Tears. Even though it tears it doesn't seem to want to be cut with scissors. Then once you are done you have to store it back in the plastic bag so crap doesn't stick to it since the whole thing is a roll of sticky. Would NOT recommend at any price

Sticks Well in some spots
I used this for our new build and maybe it’s because the carpet is brand new but on the edges it didn’t stick down. we had to stomp on the middle part a lot to get that part to stick. I would use this again because it did protect the carpet. Would probably over lap it for the edges. Need two people to apply this. Very sticky. It will stick to its self.

Great product!
We live in an "Historic District" in our town and Halloween is a big event in our neighborhood. This past spring, we replaced old jute carpet squares with new ones. They look great! But, we get 650+ kids on Halloween plus parents who accompany their young ones.....So, we purchased this plastic film for Halloween. We rolled it out yesterday afternoon (10/31/24). It was very sticky and adhered well. It was easy to do with 2 people--one rolling it and the other patting it down. Then, the kids arrived. This film handled all that foot traffic better than we expected. It didn't tear, pull up, nor caused anyone to trip or stumble. We will purchase this film again for next year. And BTW, the photo is from the morning AFTER about 800 people walked on it. I am very impressed!

Tour of Homes protection for oriental rugs
Went against the directions warning against putting this on wool rugs. I placed directly on 100 year old oriental rugs and fuzzy flokati wool rugs. We had over 1,000 people touring our home during a rainy weekend and this worked well to see the rug underneath while protecting from dirty shoes. Next time I will wrap the edges of the rug with non sticky saran wrap/cling wrap first then place this adhesive film. When removing this from the edges it did want to pull on the wool knots where the ends are frayed. If there is an area that has a tear that would pull wool or fiber, I would suggest covering that will saran wrap too. The saran wrap will stick to the adhesive film but not allow it to stick to a delicate area on rug or carpet. Slight learning curve on how to place. 2 people make it go quicker. We placed a few inches onto wood floor and rolled onto rug, lifted up and unrolled about 2 feet while other person smoothes film from middle out to edges. When removing the film roll from edges into center and it sticks to itself while keeping dirt contained. I'll use this again.

Very difficult to handle
We did our best with this plastic, but it is very very sticky and hard to unroll by yourself. Even with 2 of us, it didn't come off the roll easily and left quite a messy tail up our stairs. It will do the job, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Does the job! Beware sticky residue!
I put this down in high traffic areas when we were moving into a rental with tons of carpet. I'm so glad I did! Saved a lot of vacuuming/shampooing. It was a bit difficult to apply to the stairs and developed a couple holes as a result, but everywhere I was able to lay it totally flat it held up fine for a week, after which I took it up with no residue. Will be using this again when I potty train my third kiddo.Update: well, I'm potty training my third kiddo, and have had this stuff down for one month...We just took it up, and STICKY RESIDUE! I'm horrified. It feels terrible underfoot and I don't know whether ordinary carpet cleaning will get rid of it. Don't use this stuff longer than a week!
