Q: in the pictures it shows the motorcycle exhaust wratpped, will it work on hot surfaces?

It looks like it's actually the heat shield that's wrapped, not the exhaust itself. Per the add, it's heat resistant up to about 225F once applied, but I personally wouldn't use it on even the heat shield

It is a darker red, not a bright red.

I’d say 5 rolls if your good.

It's not clear, it's actually more of a burgundy than it is red. However you can put a light up to it & it will shine through. Your break light may not be as bright anymore though.
