Works phenomenally for a Chicken coop all year.
We use this on our chicken coop to keep our chickens shaded throughout the day. This definitely does the job to keep them cooler during the day and they get some shade in there. Durability is pretty good. We’ve had it over a year now and we absolutely love it. It protects the chickens from snow as well keeping the snow out. It is versatile in seasons. Easy to install we use zip ties to tie it down to the coop. It can rip easily putting holes in it, if not use properly.

Much sturdier than it appears! Awesome!
UPDATE: I bought this two years ago with hopes it'd last one or two years. It's holding up MUCH better than I expected. Hail, big winds, 104 temps, this doesn't have a mark on it. It's covering the top of a gazebo and down the west side, staked into the ground on the west. The plants under this shade are huge, flowering, much happier than the ones in full sun. When plants say "full sun", they don't mean "full sun in Colorado". The sun is brutal here. I'm buying another one of these shades to tie from the gazebo to a nearby tree to shade the rest of the flower bed. I've had to throw out two burned-to-a-crisp peony bushes this year. I LOVE THIS SHADE CLOTH.Cheap, lightweight, secure grommets, provides a lot of filtered shade. I put this over a gazebo, and it's big enough to cover the top and come down one side. It's so much cooler now. I hope it lasts a couple of seasons.

Outdoor shade solution
Works well, a little thin but surprisingly will do the job.

blows in a stiff wind all day, every day, and doesn't care
I let this shade cloth sit around in the package for two weeks before using it. I thought I was going to have to return it. I was expecting something more lightweight and of a different weave. Then the heatwave struck. I gave in and strung it up haphazardly for some temporary relief until I would have the time to give it better support, not expecting the mesh to hold together and not expecting my poor installation job to keep it in the air. What I had intended to do was run cord from the house to the fence, lacing the cord through the grommets at each end, so that the cord would support the middle of the mesh. This would give me the option of sliding the mesh up the cord in a bunch when I wanted more sun and expanding it back down the cord as needed. What I actually did was tie cords to only 10 of the grommets and afix them wherever I could reach. It's been a couple of months. The sun beats on it all day. The winds here whip up starting around noon and don't stop until 10pm. I have watched the mesh flop around, billow up like a parachute, yank on its cords, and get rained on. I was wrong that the wind would chew it up; there is enough air flow to let the wind mostly pass through it But I thought surely the rain would weigh it down and I'd finally have to get off my lazy butt and install it properly. But, nope. The mesh, which happened to have got installed on a bit of a slant, kept the area underneath it mostly dry, while allowing the rain to run off the lower edge as though I'd designed it that way.As for keeping the sun off the patio and away from the sliding glass door, it's great. The plants still get enough sun to bloom, but it's so much cooler in the house.I love it. I'm glad I didn't spend money on something fancier.

Useful for blocking sun and hard rain
Bought this to block the harsh sun from burning up my plants, the grommets make it easy to hang and an added bonus is that since it’s hung from high to low, I can also use it to capture rain to water my plants. We live in Windy Florida with a lot of rain and it has endured two hurricane hurricanes already. Very durable and blocks out quite a lot of sun.

Survived bad weather
I've had this fabric for 2 years and it has survived Houston hurricane winds and terrible hunderstorms. It's very durable and it provides great shade. I think it definitely is worth the money.

Need a replacement? Forget about it.
I originally purchased (2) of the 10ft x 20ft shade. Both shipped out separately, which honestly makes no sense, but anyway.. the first one that arrived was terrible. The corners would not hold up and kept undoing themselves anytime we hung it up (the first picture is from the 1st purchase). It did not hold up for a day, so I went ahead and requested a replacement hoping that I just got unlucky and received a defective one. Returning the defective one and placing a replacement order went smoothly. By the time I was waiting for the replacement to arrive, the 2nd arrived. This one, held up perfectly. I had no issues whatsoever. It provides the best shade, it was easy to hang up. I am not sure if each one has different amount of grommets on each side, but this one had 12 grommets on the 20ft side and 5 grommets on the 10ft side. I was extremely happy and now I was super stoked on receiving the replacement, since my backyard has the sun beating all day. When the replacement arrived, (I pay attention to small details) I noticed that the shade was packaged slightly differently and it did not have the strip of paper that showed what size it was. Once I went ahead and hung it up, I was hoping to be able to tie it next to the other one and that is when I noticed that it seemed much shorter than it should be. This replacement was about a whole foot shorter and only had 11 grommets on the supposed 20ft side. I thought it might have seemed shorter since I had not hung it up fully yet, so I went ahead and kept putting up, but not even after being up for 30mins, I started noticing the grommet sides coming undone on the corners and the middle (2nd and 3rd pic). Needless to say, I was very unhappy with the fact that I received a defective first order, replacement that Amazon sent me was the wrong size and defective as well. That is why I am giving it only 3 stars, because overall the shade does provide good shade, its easy to hang up with the bungee cords I purchased but I had issues with one of them and the replacement. However, it is worth the money if you're lucky enough to receive one that is made right.
