Kurt Adler 8.5-Inch Capiz Star Tree Topper with 10 Clear Lights and 1 Spare Bulb

Wow, Kurt Adler 8.5-Inch Capiz Star Tree Topper is stunning! I looked around very hard for one that fit all my requirements, a long list indeed, and this came the closest. It's two-sided, that was near the top of my list and a must. I wanted something larger as I have a 7.5' tree, but once I thought about it decided since my tree is not the "classic" dense style but a more realistic Norwegian style fir that this 8.5" one would be a better fit and I was right! The topper is very well made, unblemished Capiz shells held together as if they were stained glass, and equally nice front and back. There is some weight to it, obviously, but not excessive for any well-made 6' or greater fake tree. If I had a complaint, it would be the incandescent bulbs. I went through a lot of trouble finding LEDs that passed for vintage bulbs, I am old and vintage myself, and would have liked to stick to those. If you have LEDs on your tree as I do you will need to run a separate extension to these in all likelihood unless your LEDs specifically state otherwise. Aside from that, and its not a complaint really, this is a perfect tree topper!

I chose this because unlike some of the other stars from this designer, this one is double-sided! It's gorgeous and fits with my mid-century modern, geometric style. The cord is a little short for my tree, but I'll try to connect it to another cord next year. It was also quite heavy, took some maneuvering to get it to stay up on my fragile fake tree. I will look to stabilize it with chopsticks or something next year.

The spiral mount is a little difficult to attach to the top of the tree, but I’m giving this five stars because the topper is gorgeous. Super happy with this tree topper.

The star is beautiful!!! The only reason I’m giving 4 starts is because is wish the star could be bigger for the price. Our Christmas tree is 8 feet tall and the star look a bit small. Other than that the star looks amazing, very unique, is bright and holder is stable.

This made my Christmas tree. I love the design so much! Color is nice & warm. The quality is great and affordable compared to other pieces like this one.

There's a lot of detail in this star. It looks great on top of our tree! The warm white incandescent bulbs remind me of when trees had a softer glow instead of newer harsh LEDs. The white stained glass look is classic.

Beautiful tree topper but it arrived with some glass panels broken off… weird thing was the missing pieces were nowhere to be found in the box or packaging. Not a very sturdy piece.

This is a very satisfactory tree topper. My tree is 7', and proportionately the star ends up looking a tad too large, but quite dramatic, so overall I'm happy with the size. The spiral coil meant to sit on the branch is very short, only a couple of inches deep. My tree has a long branch at the top for a topper support, so I was not able to use the coil as it is meant. I had to use a couple of twist ties to attach it, but it worked out fine. The star is not very heavy, so it did not cause any leaning. The cord is 36" as stated, much longer than I needed it to be, as I just plugged it into the neighboring light string end.The capiz pieces are predictably thin and feel delicate, so this baby got packed very carefully in plenty of tissue and a new sturdy box. The original packaging was quite flimsy. I'm sure rough handling will cause the capiz pieces to break. Even with kid gloves, I have a feeling they may still break over time, but since the piece was so affordable, if I can keep it safe for 5 years or so, I won't be disappointed.The internal lights and wires are visible when you're very close, but mine looks exactly like the display pictures. So you're good to use those pics as a true representation of what you're getting.
