A very good buy
I purshard this as I’m disabled and wheelchair bound and was desperate for a hairdresser to come to my home to colour/cut my hair I finally found a mobile hairdresser but silly of me but I didn’t think of how she was going to wash the dye out of my whilst keeping me dry as I have a wet room, a friend of mine said her hairdresser has a blow up thing like this that she uses over her kitchen sink to wash her hair, so on to amazon I went on a mission to find the best one after a lot of looking I decided to get this one mainly because I didn’t want to spend loads if it wasn’t much good or didn’t work for job I needed it for and I can honestly say it worked a treat I wheeled into my wet room put this on and tilted my head slightly and the hairdresser did the rest, one thing I would point out as the person using it ie me has to control holding it by the black strap attached so you have to constantly hold it tightly and in a position that tilts it so if a frail elderly lady was using it I would maybe choose a different one also my neck is on the large side so fits in the gap snug which works better for me as if my neck was smaller water would run down my back but because my neck fits snug it protects water from going everywhere so a very positive first time use for me but not the hairdresser on the other hand standing in my wet room left her with two wet feet lol but I was dry and that was a good thing for being able to have my hair done at home hassle free. On the second use my hairdresser wore black sacks on her feet lol and my back got a little wet unlike the 1st time but I personally think the hairdresser was getting me back for getting her feet wet first time lol it wasn’t a great deal that a blast with the hairdryer dried me think it was my fault using a different sack over back of wheelchair a smaller one than time before so I’ll use same next time I used first time then the back won’t get water on but a all round god send for me as being unable to get out it allows me to have my hair coloured at home regularly very pleased with it also if dye gets on it it will come off easily with a damp cloth.

Be mindful who you are buying it for
Unfortunately this isn't suitable to use with my elderly Mum BUT that's not entirely to do with the product. Mum is very small (below 5ft) and has slight curvature of the spine along with having a very short neck. The wash basin in the bathroom is also on the small side.Aside from that there isn't any fault with the product except perhaps better cushioning in the neck area.

Not great for the elderly
Bought this for my 92 year old mother. For her it was difficult to put her head back and being short not a great angle for the water to drain. The neck part doesn’t fit very well so need to put a towel under it which gets very wet where there is no seal. I imagine it would be easier with a younger more able person although would they need this? We manage with it and it works, we just get prepared to get a bit wet.

Not perfect, but definitely helps!
I use this with a lady at her kitchen sink. It is a bit awkward if the person wants to hold a towel up to their hairline as someone needs to hold the straps, but would never be able to wash her hair without it. I recommend it

Helpful gadget
Good quality plastic and easy to use. Need to put plastic sheet over shoulders and pad neck with towel (like in hairdressing salon) otherwise water gets in between tray and neck, but once you get the hang of it it works well. Recommended

Good quality.
bought this for my mum, massive improvement from what we had to do/use before I bought this. Fits her perfectly round the neck but not comfortable and some water escapes round the neck where the board hugs the neck.

Not suitable for me
When I tried this on a petite wheelchair user it did not sit well. No fuss about returning the product.
