Excellent Excavator digger for the price. Durable and fun to play with, especially after a getting a battery upgrade.
I love this digger excavator. It is very realistic looking and detailed. It is made of a very durable plastic but the bucket is metal. Don't mistake this RC model for the ones you see on YouTube, they are usually hydraulic machines and cost thousands; the diggers in this price bracket use gearboxes and wont provide enough power for digging sand or earth (There are Excavators out there that use linear actuators (Huina 580) that will dig sand but still quite pricey and I have not been able to find a UK stockist).I have been experimenting with different things to dig and have found it scoops up things like uncooked rice or pasta and sweets out of a tray or bucket very easily. It will work with very fine dry sand too and small legos etc.The battery it comes with is an issue, it only lasts about 15 minutes and this lets the toy down badly, however I have just bought a new battery (1600mAh 7.2V M Type 2P SM Ni-Cd AA Rechargeable) This simple upgrade gave me nearly an hour of continuous play from a full charge.Move&Moving(TM) RC Car 1600mAh 7.2V M Type 2P SM Ni-Cd AA Rechargeable Battery Blue

Well what can say say about this digger!? It's a really good bit of kit! I bought this for my nephew's birthday, and all was going really good until we found the bucket on the digger wouldn't work! Everthing thing else was working perfect and it would make the noise when you press the controller but that bucket would not move. I thought, here we go! Was about to email the sellers, and noticed they had already emailed me asking how i was getting on with it. So after a couple of emails and i explained what the problem was, Rebecca (the lady from Top Race) emailed me to say that she would organise a replacement. The next day i recieved the new one and all is perfect! Works really well, does what it says it does and it's well made and a strong bit of kit. We had it tip over a few times and still goes on. So i cannot complain about anything really. I Would recommend this to anyone else who was thinking about buying this.

Worth the extra over cheaper models
Outstanding build quality, my 5 year old son loves this. Some minor annoyances, the internal battery cable and connector are very flimsy, I always feel like I could break it everytime it needs charging. The charger itself is also on the flimsy side. However the toy itself feels brilliantly made and has excellent range of motions and keeps my son happy for hours. Recommended.

Wonderful 'toy' digger
Wonderful 'toy' digger. The functionality is great and the strong metal bucket is impressive. The sounds are annoyingly loud but can be turned off. Our 3 1/2 yr old mastered the controls in a couple of sessions and has a lot of fun with it while the battery lasts - about 30 mins. We've ordered a couple of spare battery packs from the seller (easily organised by sending them a message on Amazon) to stop the frustration when the battery runs out. Christmas warning: the remote handset takes AA batteries (not supplied) but the digger itself has a special battery pack that needs charging (via a USB port) for 4 hours before use - imagine the tantrum when we told him that; not something you would need on Christmas Day so best charge them in advance.

Broke almost immediately
Had a really disappointed child when it broke the second time it was played with. Such a shame because it looks brilliant.

Brilliant toy
What a fantastic birthday present for our Grandson, this excavator is very well made and sturdy, hours of fun ahead for a very happy lad, it’s the most realistic ALL parts moving toy for the price.

Looks cool, but the arm is very weak, which limits play scenarios a lot
It was really difficult to find where to insert the battery - the instruction points to a completely incorrect location. And you will need to get it out every time you want to charge it and use flimsy USB cable for that. The remote control is generic and it feels like all functions are randomly assigned to buttons and joysticks - very unintuitive and difficult to control at least at first.
