Good stuff
Very earthy taste but I like it certainly does what I want it for

Bitter and stains, but great homemade remedy
I was hesitant to purchase black turmeric at first, especially as I wasn't familiar with the brand but I'm so glad I did. Whilst this didn't exceed my expectations, it has become a staple on days I don't feel like swallowing capsules. I'm not a fan of the bitterness in comparison to golden turmeric which I grew up eating and adore. That being said it's great for migraine and relieving sore muscles when ingested. Another benefit is I avoided getting sick when my shoes got wet and I was stuck outside in the cold & snow.I probably won't repurchase in powder form but will look for capsules that don't contain filler when this bag is finished. A little goes a long way.

Strong bitter taste, odd smell but seems to work.
So fair warning, full disclosure from the start, this was a product sent at zero cost to me under Amazon's Vine programme. That doesn't mean it gets an automatic favourable review though. User reviews are the main thing I look for when buying something and I think they are gem of the internet age. They mean we get to share our experiences with each other before spending our cash on something. So here goes, honest review timeIn the box:The pouch of turmeric, nothing more. Decent pouch though. Factory sealed, once snipped open can be resealed.Product:It's well ground with no lumps. There are no guidelines on how to use it, but they are here on the product page. It has a mild, fairly unpleasant smell, a little like mouldy fruit. The taste is pretty bitter when mixed with warm water. In short neither the taste or smell is something you're likely to look forward to.I've taken turmeric for the last few months after hearing from colleagues that it helps them with pain relief. I'm not really a big believer in supplements, I think the placebo effect is strong with them, however I have noticed a small reduction in pain since trying turmeric, but only small. So I stopped my regular turmeric capsules and tried this stuff. It seems to work about the same if I'm honest. Conclusions:Well it tastes fairly bad. As such I'd be unlikely to use it as a cooking ingredient for fear of ruining the dish I was making. As a drink it's bearable though, especially if you just neck it rather than sipping it. Realistically I doubt anyone is buying this for the taste, more for the health benefits associated with it. If you don't mind very bitter tastes it's ok.

Nice tumeric, not bad taste!
I've been taking tumeric for a while but never had 'black' tumeric so was intrigued to try this.It has a slightly, uhm, different taste, but I became used to it. Stronger than usual turmeric and a touch more bitter, but not inedible for most people I think. Adding it to a milk smoothies with some fruit to add sweetness was quite palatable.Came in a recyclable pouch with long expiry date. Looks to be very good quality turmeric and at a very good price for organic. Made a note of this company to buy this in the future when I have finished the pouch.
