Murky water
Initially turned the water a white chalk colour, pretty cloudy but once I'd rinsed the stones in warm water then sterilised for tank safety they were fine.

Unfortunately I agree with others and should have actually properly read the comments. These stones are absolutely tiny while images - on the palm - show bigger in size. Deceitful indeed
