this is the brand recommended by my well man
My pump was running too much and overheating with the last pressure switch I installed a few months ago. I could have sworn that I saw the same brand name on it as this one and I bought it on Amazon and I needed to give it a bad review, but both are untrue.I couldn't find it on my amazon orders and I didn't see a square D or "by Pumptrol" anywhere on it. I did see "made in China" on it. I didn't see a country of origin on this Square D By Pumptrol pressure switch.Another brand recommendation from my well man (that I grew up with, his father installed wells for my parents and he does all the wells are around here even though there are other companies providing the same service) for pumps is Sta-Rite pumps.I have the following testimonies for the Sta-Rite brand: when I was young, we were always going through pumps of various brands on our wells, I remember and looking back I remember sears pumps and others, but not Sta-Rite. We probably could not afford Mapp's Sta-Rite pumps. My current pump is Sta-Rite on a well put down by Mapp which was transferred from another well on my property also drilled by Mapp. so the pump has outlasted a well that went bad and really taxed the pump and 7 days of straight running because I was out of town and the switch went bad. Then the previous switch to this won which kept the pump running too much. Even Mapp couldn't tell me when he drilled the first well and installed my pump that's still working. So if you want the best switch and pump, go with Square D by Pumptrol switches and Sta-Rite pumps.If this switch turns out to be garbage as well I will update this review to reflect that.
