Wonderful product ruined by tariffs
Bought the 5 pound bag back in dec and a, finally almost out nearly 5 months later. They re hydrated fine someharder then others and I just use those for soups and boil them longer and they’re fine. I love the texture. However, and to no fault of the sellers when I bought in Dec it was $43 for the 5 pound bag. Unfortunately now because of tariffs that same bag is almost double the price at $81. This is a staple in my home so it’s bummer looking for other alternatives.

High quality, good value, very satisfied!
Excellent quality. I use these in many recipes. My test was to pour boiling water over them and they rehydrate well. I did rinse them first, but there was no sediment at all. They are clean, a consistent small size with trimmed stems. No problem at all to cut into smaller pieces for soup or stew. I’ve been eating dried shitake for decades. I like the texture, which is similar to fresh ones. A little chewy. Love love. And the giant bag will last me quite awhile, haha!

Mushrooms are great, packaging needs a bit of work
Great value for shiitake mushrooms. They look good, quality and quantity, I haven't tried them yet. My only complaint is the packaging. It's plastic and came with a small tear, didn't look like any rodent or tampering tear, just an accidental tear. So I didn't worry about it.

Surprisingly good
I bought these for soups and added to cream of mushroom soup recipes. The added mushrooms bring flavor and add texture. These lasted a short time in my kitchen because everyone loved them. Reconstitute in water for about 3-5 minutes, then add for best results.

I am very disappointed with these mushrooms!
These mushrooms are terrible! I regret that I bought them. When I cooked mushroom soup, it was the worst mushroom soup in my life!

dried mushrooms last indefinitely, soak well, follow directions in product description
I keep dried mushrooms in my pantry. I dont use them all the time, but just enough to warrant my purchasing a huge 5 lb bag-- best price per ounce too. Worry about them going bad? Nah, dried mushrooms last indefinitely. A lot of foods are like that. Store them well, and they are going to be totally fine for years to come. Good prepper food. No shortage of info to be found regarding this. That being said, my bag has a best by date of Feb 2025-- couple years out. Best by is really only an guarantee of freshness, taste, and nutritional value. After that, it is possible for there to be a decrease in quality, etc, but it depends on the food. Dried mushrooms are not affected by time so much.Any dried vegetable or fruit wont rehydrate to perfection. Soaking is very important, not just tossing in when cooking (ie, dont think that they have been "soaked" because they were added to a long simmer soup). I find it best to soak before actual cooking or other uses. Stems take way longer to soften up, so it may be best to remove those as soak separately.I like shiitake for its mild flavor and high nutrient value. I ay use fresh white cap or portabello mushrooms then add in some dried (well, soaked) shiitake to give added boost.Huge bag. Like size of a bed pillow. I dont store them in any fancy complicated way. I take out what I think I will use over the course of a month, then just tape the bag closed and store in cool dark area. If I am motivated, I may divide these up into jars, baggies, or mylar bags just for ease of storing. If not, the mushrooms are fine in the bag they came in.

Didn’t soften up
I don’t know what was wrong with this but after soaking overnight they never softened up
