I have read some bad reviews about dents, locking mechanism no good. I don't normally write reviews but I have to on this cooler. I am very happy with my Coleman cooler. No problems whatsoever. I would definitely buy again

Bought for my husband for Christmas last year. It’s the perfect cooler for parties, beach days, and weekends out of town. Kept beers and sodas cold for 3 days after our last party. And it’s sturdy enough to sit on. The size is perfect for what we use it for, and the built-in bottle opener is super convenient. It’s definitely not the cheapest cooler you can get, but the quality of it is excellent. Great alternative to some of the more expensive ice chests out there. I’ve loved Coleman products for many years, and this one is no exception!

Very happy with this cooler. After buying ice early evening of 12-23 we still have ice on the evening of 12-25. The cooler was opened and closed several times Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It looks and feels like a $500 YETI type cooler. For the money, it’s hard to beat. Very impressed. We keep it next to our Yeti Hopper which has the clean ice for tea and other drinks.

No Packaging for this, 2 to 3 inch clearances on all side an no packaging to keep it in the middle. Unheard of in the packaging business. I worked on Alan Mullally's team and you would be fired the next day he read a review like this. If you don't know who he is look it up. This Coleman Cooler is built so cheap it's going to be dented and scratched within a day's use. The powder finish scratches immediately in shipping because the don't include any packaging protection. I was blown away because I have bought Coleman coolers for 45 years. They have tried 2 orders recently and they have proven to me that they now longer care about quality even though they raised their prices 4 times. I will be surprised if they don't let a couple people go over this. They have ruined their line of once highly respected cooler line. I will be tough to get customers back at this point for anyone who has received one of these. You are talking nearly $300 with tax and it is a piece of crap. I am done with Coleman. Buy an Igloo. I just got mine and it is of the old Coleman quality. Both their finishing Team manager and their packaging managers should be fired. I am done with Coleman, and when I give up a brand I very rarely return. See Ya Coleman!

Wish the whole thing was metal, not just the inner ribs. Otherwise, great items.

Honestly I don't know that I want to return it - since I feel like any replacement shipped is likely to suffer the same fate. The top front has a smallish dent in the metal, and there are some minor scrapes on the rear of the item. Likely these would be "battle scars" that I would have incurred on a few outings in any case... Just sort of bummed out that I'm not the first one to do it.The cooler arrived in a large box, with no inner packaging or padding/packing. So I'm sort of surprised that it wasn't more damaged in shipping; perhaps that speaks to the durability of the cooler itself. However, enough on my disappointment with shipping - since that's really Amazon's fault - it's not a review of the product itself.1. Metal hinges. My last couple of coolers failed due to snapped plastic hinges. I'm really hopeful these will last longer.2. Metal cladding. The bottom of the cooler is plastic, but the upper and top are metal clad - and it looks to be relatively durable. A sit test - shows they're honest about the 250lb limit.3. Performance - this is a day/weekend cooler - not a week-long. It'll keep your ice for about 3 days in 80-90 degree weather assuming you've managed to put in a good amount.4. No tip drainage. It's not 100%, but it is an improvement.5. Capacity is ideal for a weekend camping or a gathering needing a good number of cold beverages.Overall the product is good, seems well made, functions correctly, etc. This is _not_ an RTIC, or YETI rotomolded cooler for extended duration outings, or extreme temperatures. It's ideal for patio and deck use - beach days - large picnic parties - weekend camping. The integrated bottle opener is great - you'll never drop or misplace it.The only downside was the poor shipping which caused minor, cosmetic damage. Amazon - please do better.
