Melissa & Doug Giant Lion - Lifelike Stuffed Animal (over 6 feet long)

I love Melissa and Doug stuffed plush animals and add new ones to my collection from time to time. Their quality is usually exceptional to good. I had only one substandard plush dinosaur in the past but they guaranteed satisfaction and let me choose a replacement product. When I decide to buy lifelike realistic stuffed animals, this is the company I choose.This lifelike lion is wonderful and looks so real, even better than on the Amazon website. It is regal, lightweight, and soft. I bought this to put on my king-size bed (see photos) and I absolutely love it. With this addition, I now have a collection of eight Melissa and Doug plush animals as follows below and I name all of them. When I first received this big boy, I thought he was done wrong, because one leg was much longer than the other, and I didn’t remember a mention of this anywhere in the description. I realized that this was intended to simulate the lion lounging, which makes sense. I bought this for a zoo themed trunk or treat decoration, and the kids absolutely adored him! I can’t tell you how many children asked if he was real. LOL. He’s soft, although his mane has a very acrylic feel and is a bit scratchy. The face looks very nice, but it is feels like a semi-rigid plastic form underneath the fabric. Too much pressure against this, and I fear it could be crushed in. He’s large, with a long tail and a sturdy, well proportioned, quality made body. His colors are very realistic and evenly done. There is no bleeding in the fabric, and the stitching is even and complete on all seam lines. While I love many of Melissa and Doug products, they can be a hit or miss on occasion. This one was a hit. Pricey, but worth the cost. He will make a wonderful addition to my grandchildren’s bedroom and I would highly recommend him as a gift for any child (or adult) in love with wild animals.

We got this for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and it is worth the money. She loves him. He has moveable front paws and she can give him high fives or wrap them around her. He has become her new best friend. He is quite large, but made well. The facial features are very well done. His head and face are harder so keep that in mind, he is not "plush plush" all over. There are some areas where you do see some stitching that could be hidden but it is really well made.

I bought this as a novelty birthday gift for my young-adult daughter bc she loves lions.It is a nice, large stuffed animal - the body is quite plush. Overall I was satisfied with the item, the price was reasonable, & was shipped/arrived within the allotted time.However . . . both front legs should be long. One long - one short front leg makes no sense. The longer leg was much longer than I realized.Also, understand - the head is not plush. It's basically something like a plastic form covered in material.Also note; the mane hair is not very thick at all, and it is not 'plush'. It's the same texture hair found on Smurf dolls.I would have preferred a much thicker fur like a parka hood has. (I'm even considering buying some at a hobby supply & attaching it)
