The seat itself is just fine, but like many at this price point it uses plastic "bolts" to secure it to the toilet, which can cause some slide if you plant at an angle, but the seat is really dense feeling, sturdy, and it does reposition pretty easily. It installs pretty easy too comparatively, with the tabs that cover the bolt head hinging away from the seat, and that's better to manage the installation process. The bolts are really long, like most are, and that's not the most fun to deal with, so if you like you can screw the plastic nut on and saw it off shorter, just to make the long screwing process easier, but if you have an electric screwdriver this makes installation faster, still be very careful not to strip out the head when it snugs in a hurry.

Unexpectedly nice out of the box, easy to install as long as your old seat's hardware isn't rusted or otherwise jammed fast. Comfortable. Fit toilet perfectly. Box has ruler marks on sides telling you to use them to measure your old seat before you open the box. I noticed this after I opened the box. Glad I measured before I ordered the thing! My only complaint is that the plastic hinges attaching the bottom to the cover are not as robust as they should be. There is a bit more side-to-side give in them than there should be, imho. A heavy person sitting down at an angle could possibly wear these out sooner than expected. We'll see. Glad they are inexpensive (for now).

The toilet seat itself is great and seems to be good quality. However, I have been to the plumbing store twice already and now have to plan another trip. I replaced the cheap plastic screws (stripped out already) with Metal screws and bolts, along with some washers for the toilet seat hinge, and it still slides to the left when I sit on the seat and I'm tiny. I have never been more frustrated by something so simple. This product should include rubber seals at the seat hinge to help prevent seat slippage. I do not recommend this toilet seat. Also, the lid slams down with the seat when closing.

Although other buyers warned that their toilet seats did not close slowly as advertised, I decided to give it a try as it was Kohler and the price. Another failure! It closes like all other toilet seats - loudly and quickly! i would expect better from Kohler. I could send it back and buy something else but now that Amazon has gotten greedy and charges $7.99 for a return if UPS comes to your house for a return, it really is not worth the hassle. I am disabled and unable to drive so going to a UPS drop off spot is not an easy thing and I hate to ask someone to do for me that which Amazon used to do for free. It has saved me a lot of money, I just don't buy from them anything that I may have to return which cuts out a majority of my spending. However, I foolishly assumed I would not have a problem with a toilet seat. So after all that, if you are buying this seat for the purpose of the slowness, buy something else. You will be much happier.
