This works well for doing a topside oil change on my boat. Engine is a 350 Mercruiser (Chevy) I was able to drain all but about a cup of oil from the engine. Much easier than getting to the drain plug. It is a bit slow, but works well. Run the engine for 3-4 minutes first to warm the oil up a bit.

The pump had multiple defects right out of the box. The valve on the suction valve wouldn't close (which is critical to how the pump functions), the end of the pump wasn't glued on so the pump plunger falls out, and the gasket for the cap is too small to stay in, so it falls out of the cap and causes a vacuum leak.To top it all off, Amazon wants to charge me to return it! (Unless I take it to a UPS store, which the nearest one is an hour's drive away!)Do yourself a favor and avoid this piece of junk!

I tried and tried to get this to pump out the oil from my 5.7 Merc engines(2). It will not do it. Wasted money. I ended up buying a Holt and a pancake compressor. That did work. Waste of money.

just what I was looking for...does a great job.

Took about an hour to get all the oil out of my boat.Ball came off the pump about fifteen minutes in.Don’t waste your money.
