Pyramex SL Series Full Brim Hard Hat 4-Point Ratchet Suspension

Works and looks great!

This hard hat is great for the price. The build quality of the plastic is good enough that it doesn't feel like it would shatter from the lightest bump, and the ratcheting system is acceptably comfortable. Installation of the suspension is as simple as lining up the slots and pushing the tabs down into place, just like it should be on any functional hard hat. The only problem I had with it was adjusting the height of the headband in relation to the crown straps. Since it's a slot and T design, you're going to have to really get to bending the plastic at some uncomfortably sharp angles to adjust the depth of the band if you have a larger head like mine. I have the suspension set to full depth and it's juuust the right depth to fit my head. The measurements for this hard hat is for head sizes 61/2" - 8", so it should cover the vast majority of head sizes. I gave it five stars because for the price, the couple flaws it has are forgivable, but I recommend you buy a higher quality hard hat if you plan to use it heavily, or are actually a full time blue collar worker.

My granddaughter announced that she wants to be a wildland firefighter when she grows up. She's almost six years old, so today's dreams can change daily. Being a doting grandpa, I made sure that she had a REAL hardhat to wear, not a toy helmet that she could break or outgrow. I thought that this could grow with her by means of the adjustable headband suspension system. I did get other items to fill out her firefighter rig. She will be surprised when she gets a real hardhat for her birthday. If I needed a hardhat, this would be the one. The full brim can accommodate those slip-on brim extenders when extra shade is needed.

This is a great hard hat for the price. I have a very large head (XXL or XXXL in motorcycle helmets) and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get this to fit properly. It took some jerry rigging, I had to pry the little plastic mount pieces out and move them to different slots, but I got it to fit pretty well. It rides a bit high on my head, but it gets the job done. If I had to wear it everyday for work I'd buy something nicer, but for the occasional weekend project it is great.

Like the visible cover. Works for its intended purpose.

It is comfortable and fits good. Adjustment is easy.

Durable hard hats. Have not had any complaints on comfort or usability

The ratchet works well, but the straps aren’t adjustable.
