Great little pump!
Great size to use in my mini 5-gallon tank. Strong enough to pump the water through the filter and has lasted a long time! Helps to keep my little tank clean.

A useful little pump
I purchased this pump to help with doing weekly aquarium water changes. The pump is small and the suction cups allow for easy attachment to the glass inside the aquarium. There is a variable speed setting, but I always use it at the max speed. It takes a few minutes to pump 3.5 gallons of water into or out of the aquarium. It is fairly quiet.Issues:- When pumping water back into the tank, I need to put the bucket of new water on a chair, at about the same level as the aquarium. The pump doesn't seem have enough power to push the water up into the tank if the bucket is on the floor.- The hose initially had some kinks due to how it was packaged, but after using it for several water changes, the hose has returned to a normal shape and it doesn't show any issues now.- One time the pump briefly stopped working, but that appeared to be due to sucking in some debris and wasn't the pump's fault. Flushing it out with some water cured the problem. For the price, it's an OK pump. I just wish it had a bit more power so that it could pump water up from the floor level into the aquarium.

Works well for what we needed
It’s mostly what I expected. Arrived on time. It was perfect for our 2.5’ tall Small fountain. Could work for a cat fountain, or small to medium aquarium fountain. Is quiet and functional. After we tried it out, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to use it for because I could see more uses for it! :) The little suction cups underneath don’t work very well, but I’m happy with the price for the buy. Make sure it’s fully submerged, to protect the motor; OURS WORKS GREAT ! It’s small (1”x 1.5”x 2”), fits in the palm of my hand, and fairly discreet. The tube it came with is okay, not as quality as I had hoped, but it worked when I cut off a piece of a wide straw and put it on the inside of the tube before I attached it to the pump. Came with a couple basic attachments. It sped up a little after it started going, so watch for that so that it doesn’t overflow. Overall I’m happy with it.

Update on Second Pump - Spicy Water!
I ran this pump in a toad, snail and plant filled pond for two years. I used the hose to jet it clean once in a while and it’s worked great all this time running non stop. The water flow on high is surprisingly powerful for such a small pump, and it makes a nice soothing sound on low setting over rocks.Update June 2024 on my second pump purchased March 2024. I went to clear some weeds from the water surface today and thought something had bitten me, nope, the water was electrified! Immediately unplugged, all trust in submersible pumps is gone now! Pump and wire look fine but something went wrong! The only thing that broke it was cat hair getting into the pond and choking it, making it stop and burning out the motor, my bad for grooming pets near it. Instantly went to buy another as it was such a good pump for a great price.

So far it’s pumping right along
I’m using it in a tabletop fountain that’s pump died over 10 years ago. I’ve wanted to get a new pump for it for some time but they’re usually either too expensive or have too much power. This one is a good balance. It started up perfectly out of the box and seems to be working well for now, only time will tell how long it will last.My biggest issue with it is the lack of a coupler to connect the new tube to the tube that’s plastered into my fountain. The pump is so short I needed an extra 1” between the existing tube and the pump. Since I didn’t want to let the pump dangle, it would have run out of water too fast, I just spliced the new tube and forced it over the old one to get the extra length it needed. Colorado is very dry so even with it fully submerged I have to add water every 2 days, it’ll be daily in winter. At some point I’ll hunt for the coupler but for now this seems to be working well. I did accidentally pull the tubes apart when I moved the fountain today but it was easier to slide on the second time, it was a huge pain the first go round.I have one other fountain that I’d like to get up and running but will wait to see how long this lasts. If it’s going strong in a few months I’ll get another, but I’ll make sure to have a coupler first! If it dies in the next 6 months I’ll update my review, but for now it’s a solid 4 stars.

Best water pump for cat bowls
These are perfect for cat water bowls. I don’t like any of the regular cat fountains, as you can’t clean the interiors well. I use one of these pumps in a large glass Pyrex mixing bowl and the cats love it. Easy to clean and safe for them to drink from. Pumps last about a year or so running nonstop, with regular cleanings, once or twice per week. I’ve used other pumps and they don’t have the same pressure control i get with this one. The cats are very particular with how much water movement they require lol.
