I placed my order for the unscented Lather and Wood aftershave balm on a Thursday. It shipped out promptly on Friday and was delivered to my home on Sunday by the USPS. The first thing I did was to rub a little on the back of my hand to find out if there was any scent. There wasn't any that I could detect. I typically wear cologne and look for a neutral aftershave product. I found that it went on smoothly, absorbed right into my skin with no oily residue. The skin on my hand immediately had a softer smoother feel. I was anxious to use it after shaving which I did on Monday morning. Two small pumps of the product was more than enough to cover my face. It was easy to apply. It was very soothing to my freshly shaved face and made my skin feel soft all day. I was amazed as I kept checking it all day. I've found the experience just as good on day two. I've tried other products but can honestly say nothing else has come close. There is no residue once it absorbs into your skin. It just makes your skin soft. It easily washed of my hands after application to my face, although I'm sure you could just rub your hands together and use it as hand cream.Now the really good part. The customer service from the Amazon seller, CSP products, may be the best I've EVER experienced.I was contacted by Morgan immediately after my order shipped. He thanked me and let me know my business was appreciated and that my satisfaction was important. He offered assistance and said that reply to his email would go straight to his in box.Being in sales myself, in order to show my appreciation for the communication, I reciprocated and let him know I received the order quickly, on a Sunday and that my initial impression was positive. Which again led to an almost immediate response of appreciation. I can't say enough good things about Morgan and CSP products. I look forward to trying other offerings from them. Dealing with them and using the product has been a fantastic experience.

I bought this when I started shaving with my new Muhle R89 razor about 2 weeks ago. I really soothes my skin after shaving. I love it. Goes on with a slight burning sensation typical of after shaves. Great sandalwood scent that doesn't overpower. The fragrance is initially strong, filling my nose with a great woody scent that I just love and look forward to every morning, but the scent quickly recedes into the background after it's wiped all over my face and neck. It's a foundation layer of scent that I catch little whiffs of throughout the day.Note that I'm not the kind of guy that wants to be smelled from a distance. My scent layering is intended to be subtle and smelled up close by me throughout the day, but not by anyone else. Let's put it this way, after I've completed my morning routine, including cologne, my wife can't smell me when we're in the car together. So, you don't have to worry about it being overpowering. It's not. I see it as a great base scent on which to build an overall scent. I believe that citrus and floral scents compliment this very well. I combine it with 2 light spritzes of Hollister Jake cologne and I really like that combination because the Jake has a more citrus/floral scent with a base woody scent that compliments this very well. I just happened to have the Hollister Jake as I got it as a gift a couple of years ago, but never used it until now. I really like the combination and I'll probably order more of that too once it runs out.All it takes is one squirt - about a pea sized amount. I initially used 2 squirts, but that left my face way too oily and I had to dab it off. As it is, I have to dab a little with a towel even with 1 squirt. Absorbs into my skin after a few minutes and leaves my face softer than its ever been in my entire life. Just incredible. The combination of the extremely close shave and the softness of my face from this product is just amazing. Baby But Smooth and soft. However, my face has been very shiny since I started shaving with a DE razor. Some of that I attribute to the incredibly close shave, but some of it I think comes from this product. I've ordered some Clubman Pinaud talc and I'm hoping that it will knock down the shiny complexion and add another complimentary scent layer. We will see.I also use the Lather & Wood Sandalwood Pre-Shave oil. I bought that at the same time that I bought this and it smells the same. Note that I didn't do the subscription because I didn't know if I was going to like it or not, but I believe that I'll do a subscription after I learn how long this bottle lasts.

I have both the unscented and the Sandalwood scent. Love them both. Non-oily and absorbs quickly without a lot of residual feel. Soothes nicks and scraps after shaving. Really like the fact it has comes in a pump bottle. I much prefer a balm to a liquid as an aftershave.Sandalwood - very nice smell that last awhile. Not overpowering but you can still smell it a few hours after you put it on....the way an aftershave should be IMO as I don't use cologne.Unscented - Yep, unscented without any smell that I can tell. I bought a trial group of WSP aftershaves which have terrific smells but they are considered cologne level aftershaves....way to heavy, smell-wise, for me. So, I use a pump or so of unscented Lather and Wood and then a couple of drops of the WSP, rub it together in my hand and then put it on my face. The balm is great and allows me to control how much WSP I use thus regulating the level of smell. Plus one pump or so of the balm allows me to cover my entire shaving area to sooth any nicks and scraps which I couldn't do with just 2-3 drops of WSP liquid aftershave. So using these in tandem works great!
