Dry & DryFood Safe Silica Packets Gel Desiccant Packs for Storage - 0.5 Gram(100 Pack)

I have used other brands of silica gel packets, this is and has been my favorite and ONLY brand I use now. The reason: Silica starts absorbing moisture ASAP once it's out of the package, not only making it less effective,but even HYDRATING the very thing you're trying to keep DRY .Other brands have subpar packaging, meaning your silica may already come saturated in the mail! Not these! They also have ones that indicate moisture level and saturation .from 0.5 grams up to 20+ grams of silica, best deal and effectiveness IMHO. :)

I use these in my supplement bottles, spice jars, sewing chest, tool box, etc.

I thought they'd be bigger but, them being smaller helps since I can pop them into my spice jars and what not! They're great!

The media could not be loaded. I have a vacation home in a tropical climate and every month or so, the spices (especially the salts and garlic/onion powder) are like a brick. So I tried these silica packs and checked the spices 3 months later. My spices were NOT new when I started. I emptied each one from their jars and pulverized them and put the silica pack in the bottom and replaced the spices. I store them in my pantry which is a dark place. Some are in glass jars and some in plastic. All have screw tops. The house air conditioning is kept on when we are not here but it’s set at 80 degrees. For the big containers, I used several silica packs. Here is the result after 3 months:Onion powder and garlic powder are not like a brick—onion salt is gummy but still usable.Onion powder is loose after a few hard shakes against the countertop.Garlic powder has some loose material on top but portions of the jar are like a brick.My garlic salt was never that bad because it’s a brand that is mixed with other spices like parsley and that helps a lot to keep it from hardening. It’s still good.Overall, this is an improvement over nothing at all, but not perfect. Maybe it would have performed better if I used the silica packs in brand new jars. Maybe it will be better if I use several silica packs in the small jars (I did use several in the large jars).I’m not giving up on this because it’s better than buying new spices all the time. But it does NOT work wonderfully on the salts which is what I needed it most for to begin with.It works great in chili powder, cumin, paprika, tumeric, any spice with leaves, and pepper.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I'm not from Louisiana I'm from California and we don't have humidity like this and I've learned that all my spices my powdered garlic powder onion powder those types of things they get hard as a rock in the bottle so I've decided to get these packets to put in those to keep the powder from getting hard in the bottle because it got annoying I was buying a new bottles of stuff every time I try to cook so anyways it's working great it's actually brought some of the ones that got hard back I had to work at it but yeah it it got me some of my powder back so yeah they work fine they work great I recommend using. Whatever size you need I got the small ones they're like a little 0.25 so
