Good looking watch
After a frustrating time setting the watch up, my husband is very happy with the watch. It looks good, it’s just the right size, comfortable to wear, and it’s unlike any of his many others. All in all, a very successful Christmas gift.

Download the app onto your phone.
Excellent watch, good quality and value for money. The instructions come with the usual microscopic print in multiple languages. The most important instruction in my opinion is to download the app onto your phone where you can read it easily. All the settings can be done off your phone thereafter and makes it simple

I like the unexpected features such as the light when you turn the watch to face you in the dark. Overall the watch is very nice looking.

Stop buying batteries
I wanted a relatively inexpensive waterproof watch which was analogue, had a backlight and was solar-powered (so that I wouldn’t face the expense of having to pay for re-waterproofing/sealing when replacing a battery). The specs on this one seemed to fit the bill. The watch is a fairly substantial size and does feel good quality (unsurprisingly, given that is from what I think is a fairly decent brand). I think the design is very smart with its multitude of dials and displays. The white analogue hands are very clear against the black face, but the 2 digital multi-functional LCD mini-displays are terrible - in keeping with the style of the face they are a black background, and the characters in grey (the opposite of a traditional LCD, e.g. as you might see on a calculator). As a consequence, these displays are difficult to read unless you are looking at them straight on. The backlight is passable - it has a very small white light at the bottom of the face and the light only spreads across the left side of the face - I had half-expected that Casio might use their ‘illuminator’ style of lighting, but perhaps that’s only possible on a LCD display and not an analogue face (or maybe that is old tech)? On the plus-side, solar power seems to be good, I don’t deliberately store/wear it in areas of good light but the power meter always seems to show a minimum of approx 75%).The watch use/setup is very frustrating - you have to use the Casio Watch app to even change the time - or maybe it’s just me not being able to find the right combination of button presses to do it. Yes, because it is an ‘Edifice’ model it offers the ability to store/download things like lap times but I don’t get why everything has to go through an app. Fortunately, I’m really only interested in it being a timepiece, and can just about put up with protracted method of changing the time on those rare occasions I need to.I almost returned this watch but ultimately kept it because it had the features I really wanted - it’s a watch that I don’t mind getting bashed about (although it’s obviously nowhere near as rugged as a G-Shock) and I’m using it as a basic timepiece. I’ve since swapped out the metal bracelet for a 3rd-party rubber strap and I think that makes it look better as a more casual watch. But it loses marks for ease-of-use, those silly LCD displays and over-reliance on an app.
