More cost-effective than buying the powdered version
I’m a second year micro flower farmer and I use rock phosphate in my soil block mixture. The powdered version was more expensive so I bought this one and I just run it through my coffee grinder when I’m ready to use it. It works great and helps add nutrients to my soil blocks mix so my seedlings get off to a great start.

Love this product
2013 This rock phosphate is mined and APPROVED for organic gardening. Super phosphate is processed with acid and triple phosphate even more so and has been shown to eventually give poorer results over time. And bone meal can entice animals to dig.The Espoma is granulated/pelletized...so it is very easy to use without the risk of inhaling a powder. I too could not find it locally anywhere...once again Amazon saved the day. Very fair price and Prime shipping. This bag will last many seasons.2015A good rule to remember when considering NPK needs for plants is:UP nitrogen (N) for top growth,DOWN phosphorus (P) for root growthALL AROUND potassium (K) for all around health. So in this case phosphate (P) is for establishing root growth in my seedlings. I add 1 tablespoon in the hole when I transplant. I still have about 1/4 bag left, enough for this season. I will definitely be getting another bag soon.

Use it every year
I use this with my tomatoes and I amend soil with it, but I also dump a cup full into the hole right before I plant the tomato plants.I think it's doing what it's supposed to! Everyone I know swears by this stuff!

Great for Organic Gardeners
I really love this ground rock type of fertilizer for my (organic) gardening. It lasts so long, I don't have to worry about whether or not my plants are getting enough phosphorous. I read that this form of phosphorous will last for 10 years in the ground, as it slowly breaks down to feed the plants as needed. It seems the plant roots dissolve the rock as the plant needs it. If the plants are heavy feeders, such as dahlias, the fertilizer rock may only last for 5 years. I always be sure to add this fertilizer to any bulbs I might plant since they are heavily dependent on phosphorous, which they normally get from bone meal. Therefore, this fertilizer ends up being inexpensive because the bag lasts a long time. Amazon was a source for this product I was able to find online since none of the stores near my new home carried it.

Using this year in a tomato garden
I put a small scoop of rock phosphate in the bottom of deep holes to plant my tomatoes in and they're taking off really well. I've not used the deep planting method in previous years and I have a new drip line automated watering system in place, so I can't attribute the awesome growth this year *only* to the Rock Phosphate...but it makes sense that with additional soil contact (more stem buried for new root growth), consistent watering, and plenty of phosphorus available to the tomato plants, these tomatoes are going to thrive even in the heat this summer.

Excelent product
I used this rock phosphate to reinforce roots when transplanting trees with the Elena white method and my trees grew quite a lot in these weeks and already began to bear fruit blossoms. I know the price is a bit high but the results are excellent.
