I will echo the reviews of others with this and other california air tools compressors in that the box it comes in is just stupi
I rarely review products, but my goodness, does this thing deliver as advertised. I will echo the reviews of others with this and other california air tools compressors in that the box it comes in is just stupid. It is so thin and flimsy, and this thing weighs almost 60 pounds. I lucked out and didn't have any damage or anything. I put the wheels and rubber foot on, no problems. I needed a new compressor that had a bit more CFM air flow, and wanted something more energy efficient, and more quiet. My original compressor was a porter cable 6 gallon pancake compressor. Home depot sells these on their website, but not at my local store, however one day they had a smaller CAT model and a separate compressor(basically what you see on top of this unit) to test drive as they were promoting it and I think debating on keeping it in stock in the store. I seriously thought it was a trick. Why? Because this thing delivers on the quiet. Holy crap does it. It boasts no more than 60db, and from my readings, it typically only hits that once the tank pressure gets higher. If you get on CAT's website, they have all the high detail specs, and it pretty well hits them all. Overall, speedy compression, good airflow, super quiet, built well, quality materials. I only have one complaint, which is that I'd love a better user manual. Apart from that. It's awesome. You gotta buy one. I can run this thing at night and not wake up my family, or annoy the neighbors.

I highly recommend this product
Ok, I'm lazy and most of the time, and rarely review a product. But this time, I felt others should know just how incredible this little compressor is made. It arrived very well packed, with not a single issue, and worked perfectly. It's is not silent, but compared to the deafening racket created by my previous compressor, it may as well be. When the pressure turns off the compressor, an"hiss" can be heard that unloads the pressure from the pump, and that's louder than the compressor itself. It goes from 0 to 120 lbs PSI in a couple of minutes. I didn't time it because it took more time for me to hook up my gear to the hose than it took to fill the tank. I was pleasantly surprised just how well built and how well this model works. I highly recommend this product.

Finally got one working correctly
The first one arrived and worked well the first few times I used it. While on a small project, I went inside for 20 minutes and came out to find it must have run the entire time and had extreme overheating. I emailed but did not receive a response, calling proved to be the best way to contact them. He said it was good I was an Amazon Prime member and that I should return it and they would send a replacement. Boxed it back up and got it back to a UPS store. They shipped out another one promptly. On startup, the regulator was leaking bad. I was not about to ship this one back. They sent out a replacement regulator that I installed and it has been running fine for a few months now. It does have quick recovery and is very quiet. As others have noted, for this price it should include a better regulator and a better handle. There were no equivalents that meet my criteria of 3 SCFM at 90 PSI, 50 pound range and quiet. They say it is "industrial grade", I would say it is not truly industrial grade that would hold up to running and frequent moves all day long. For my less intense usage in the garage, it should work well.

It Was Good for 2 years.
The media could not be loaded. The unit I bought work well for about 2 years. With occasional usage about once or twice a month, it was good. However, this July, the unit would not shut off due to a loose pressure relief valve. That’s an easy fix. Today, while trying to blow out water in my sprinkler system, it’s making loud noise, see attached video. I’ve heard of this earlier and not paying attention because it’d go away. Now, it sounds like the motor is about to blow up.I’ve contacted the mfr and will update this.Update: Talked to customer service and the rep gave me a link to video showing how to open the cylinder top. Everything on top looked fine. He told me if the problem is from below the cylinder it'll the motor. It'll cost more than the whole unit to replace the motor. Basically, there's nothing to be done according to the video. I'll be shopping for a new air compressor with oil lube and it'll NOT be a California Air product.Update: After sending this video, the rep from California Air email me about a replacement/ exchange. I'll keep updating this review,Last update: After all the info provided, the rep told me it’s outside of warranty period. That’s final and I’ll go shopping for a new air compressor. It won’t be a California Air,

It was great until the connector valve broke.
I do a lot of work in my little garage shop so this unit is awesome because its super quiet and it has a small footprint. The picture shows a small rubber foot on the opposite end of the wheels, my unit never came with that and so its quite unstable. As I was straightening out my hose the unit tipped over and the valve popped off along with the regulator gauge and now I'm stuck without a much needed compressor. I sent a message to California Air Tools through their website but haven't received any info yet as to whether or not they will fix this since I bought this a month ago. If you buy this unit make sure you get the rubber foot that its supposed to come with other wise its easily toppled and you have to be careful when setting it down as you would be hitting the metal bracket as opposed to a rubber foot.
