I did not need this portable disc drive.
The reason I bought it was just to remind me of the old days (1970 to now). When I began training and working on computers some systems had huge disc drives with 3 platters and a maximum 20 megabytes stored on a 150 pound system and costing about $500, 000 and required 2 or 3 techs to move. I don't recall when giga and tera bytes were invented but I do know that a large commercial system with would have cost many millions of dollars and needed warehouse sized rooms with super air conditioning. It may be a good idea to order buy is now available and wait to sell when we invent a way to travel to 1970

Cant be plugged into a pc until the pc in up and runnin
The first thing I noticed with this drive was the sleeve that came with it. The drive does not fit into that sleeve. The next thing that happened was when I plugged it in, there was a noise coming out of it. Sounded like the fan was unstable. I finally got that to stop after hitting it a couple times. Then it was working. The last thing I found after plugging it in was the fact that my pc wouldnt boot up while the drive was plugged in. And the fan noise started up again and I couldnt get it to stop this time. This is a storage device for a laptop (that I somehow didnt know until it got here). But it seems to me that regardless of it being for a laptop, it should work with a desktop PC. It does not. You could plug it up after turning on the computer, but that is not what I bought it for. I have to return it.

Worked great for awhile, but then kept running into formatting/corruption errors
This worked fine for awhile and the transfer speeds were awesome, but then it kept giving me the file corruption error and telling me it needs to be reformatted. Well I backed it up and reformatted it and then it gave me the error again a few weeks later. I do not have this issue with my Toshiba external HDD. Also a note that this will not work as an XboxOne HDD. After the second reformat I decided to give that a try and it will not work.

Small but effective
Unfortunately Big names have big prices, just because it’s a popular brand doesn’t make it good. For virtually pennies you get an efficient and good product without breaking the bank.👍
