This product is just what we we’re looking for now that 1 year old our son is tearing around the house. It was really easy to measure, cut, and piece together. The only thing that we didn’t like was the carpet tape that came with it. We applied the blue carpet tape strips, but when we went to pull off the back side to attach to our fireplace- it would not budge- like not even a little. My husband had other double sided carpet tape in the garage thankfully and it has held on well so far. Overall, awesome purchase- fair price compared to other options for baby proofing fireplaces, looks great, and I think it will hold up for the length of time we need it in place! Would buy again!

Ordered this to protect my Grandchildren from our hearth. Looks great!! When my order came in it was the wrong color. Contacted the seller and she immediately corrected my order. She took the extra steps to make sure it was the correct size, color and arrived by the time my grandkids came to visit. I very happy with the fit and protection.

This is too expensive for what it is. That said, it's not completely ugly to look at and isn't the first thing you notice when you walk in the room. My biggest issue with it is that the tapes included to not hold adequately. The center section has separated from the two end pieces allowing the front flap to unfold upward. I prepped the surfaces with alcohol and was careful not to touch the tape but my cover now looks just like several I saw pictured in the reviews. I wouldn't buy this again.

Purchase this is baby proofing material for my fireplace. Wish they offered different lengths for the center piece. Served its purpose.

Overall, I am happy with the product! Very slight difference in color of end pieces and the middle piece. Adhesion tape holding the bend in the long centerpiece could be improved.

In the never ending quest of baby proofing for a very mobile 8 month old I had to find something to wrap the fireplace stone with. The mountain of pillows, although very classy when company came over, was not working anymore to protect the babe from smacking his head off the rocks. . I found a blog where the person recommended the foam play mats but the top stone on our fire place hearth comes out about an inch so I needed a topper of sorts. Amazon lead me to this pad. The construction does take a little time but I didn’t find it to be too daunting. As others mentioned, you can tell which side I cut, but unless you are really looking it’s not that noticeable. The pad works really well, is comfortable to sit on, and looks nice. The baby has even tested it out by smacking his head off it it a time or two, rolling down it, and slobbering all over it. My big kids lay all over it and it wipes clean very easily. I was hesitant at the price but now that we’ve had it in place a few weeks it is definitely worth it. Nice quality, good directions, and comes with everything you need! I also sized it to include the little foam mat pieces so no one bust their heads on the river rocks. I found the foam mats on Amazon as well.

I love this hearth pad. I tried a few others and they never worked. This easily adhered to brick and is the perfect amount of cushion to keep my little safe.

The product itself is a great idea. The color is a lot more gray than it appears in the picture. But it worked for us color and thickness wise. But it is very hard to cut, and even harder to cut evenly. So there is going to be one end of the middle piece that is neat and the other [that is cut by you] that looks raggedy. I used an exacto knife and cut according to instructions. That didn't turn out too well. I even practiced on a part of the middle piece I wouldn't be using. But as luck would have it, the practice cut was perfect and the actual cut itself turned out raggedy. Maybe there's a better knife out there that can do this job. Maybe for this price, they should've provided it in the package! Then comes the part where you have to put some sticky tape to hold the shape of the middle piece- the stickiness of the adhesive tape provided is sadly inadequate. Then comes the best part saved for last- applying and peeling of the carpet tape to stick it to your hearth. This step is the most frustrating part - who knew peeling carpet tape was so hard to do! Childproofing is usually done by everyday parents/moms [as opposed to Bob Vilas of the world] - I would think it should be easier than this! For such a steep price, I would have expected better. I plan to call Customer Service at Kidkusion and see what they have to say about my raggedy edged hearth pad. The cushioning itself is just about adequate. It could've been thicker for the price- but then it would've been so much harder to cut! The whole process took me about an hour to do. I left it overnight for the adhesive to bond. It seems fairly stable and rigid and does not seem like it can be pulled off by my 1 year old [who sometimes displays superhuman strength]. Only time will tell. And so will my review- I will update it if it should get pulled off or any problems arise.

I’m not impressed with this item for $140. The instructions for installation say to cut the middle piece in multiple strokes to avoid a jagged line…I followed the instructions with a new blade on my exactoknife and this is the result. I wanted a clean looking solution to keeping my mantle safe with a small child so I shelled out the $140. I do not think it was worth the money…very dissapointed

I’ve had this this on my hearth for several months now, and it has held up to high traffic of people sitting on it, a large dog walking all over it, and a toddler picking at it all day long. It cleans well and has saved my toddler from several bumps on the head. It’s been worth every penny!UPDATE: I have had this item on our hearth for almost two years and it still look like new. Crayons, stickers, food and dog muddy foot prints all wash off with ease. It is walked and sat on heavily and stays in place. I highly recommend this product and even with the increase in price.

Bought this to cover my hearth to protect my infant who is starting to move around. Very easy to fit and cut. Looks quite nice as it is not really noticeable that we covered it from 6ft away. Only thing is that it does not come with the double sided tape. Quite an expensive product and a poor decision to not just include the tape.

The item came with no install instructions and the double sided tape included was next to impossible to peel to expose the other side of the tape.The foam pad was nice and thick, but for the price installation instructions should have been includedEdited to add: we moved and removed the foam from our hearth. The tape ruined part of our hearth. Not easy to remove. Would recommend using a different tape then the one provided

It’s the perfect solution to baby proofing the fireplace for your little ones. I have a pre-walker right now and I feel at ease knowing I’ve done what I can to prevent injuries. And on top of that we now have additional sitting space as well.
