Nice digital photo keychain for low price
I bought 1 of these as a gift and loaded it with pictures, and I was surprised on how well it works and looks. Its not the best digital photo keychain, but it also doesn't cost as much as the best ones either. I'm pretty picky about display resolution and quality, and for the price I think these are really nice. I was hoping to not have to use software and just be able to load it like a USB drive, so thats one point against it. I also hate that it doesn't automatically turn off after a set amount of time. You have to turn it off manually or it will constantly run and drain the battery. Thats another point against it. In the end though I liked it enough that I bought 3 more as gifts. Based on the other 2 reviews here (well, 1 review and 1 comment on that review) I may have gotten lucky with this one. I haven't used the other 3 that I bought yet, but I'm hopeful and don't expect to have any issues with them. If you want a cheap digital photo keychain that is small and has a nice display, I recommend this one. Just remember it has to be manually turned off. That issue plus the need to use software are why I only give it 3 stars.Warning - Amazon says 8mb, but Windows will say you have to format it to be accessible and that its only 2mb. It doesn't need to be formatted to be used, so I recommend against doing so. Use included software to load it.

Unimpressed -- No mass storage mode
If you are expecting to plug this device in and copy images over like a MP3 player or other USB Mass Storage class device (such as a flash drive), you will be disappointed. This device doesn't seem designed to work with anything other than the provided software. Picture quality isn't awful. The menus are relatively easy to navigate. As of 2009, USB is around 13 years old -- devices that don't work "as expected" are simply unacceptable.

Just Doesn't Work :(
Bought as a gift. You have to install a CD to use with this. The CD never loaded properly. The website offers no helpful FAQ or other helpful info. I just can not get it to work, period. A waste of money. My computer offers a "compatability mode" where it will open programs in previous windows modes and this cd still will not open. It says: "No photo viewer found, program terminated!" so annoying.

froze the computers and never worked
The CD with essential software was unreliable, freezing two computers and never loading on the third. The key chain, once powered by USB was quite unwilling to turn off. Because the software never loaded successfully I could never load photos. So the only thing that worked was the flashlight. Cheap is not cheap if it doesn't work at all.

Nice for the price!
What can I say...for less than ten bucks this is a steal!Easy, intuitive software and buttons. No problems with the 2ft USB cord or connection. The instructions specifically say DO NOT connect USB until after installing software (which takes all of 10 seconds).I like the fact that you can take any size photo, and the software outlines what will show on the key chain display. You move the outline to where you want, click on the little blue arrow button, and then click on sync. You can 'sync' one photo, or a few photos at a time. I tried 72 photos all at once and it locked-up. I've used .jpg and .bmp.Each time you plug the device into your computer, you have the choice to "Recharge Battery" or "Connect." The device menu has six choices: Power Off, Delete Image, Display Mode, Clock Set, Clock Display, Language, and Exit. The instructions specifically say that even though it comes charged, that it's best to recharge = 3.5 hours. Five hours display time.Holds max. 72 pics. Shabby photos = shabby display. There's three buttons on the right side: select button, up button, down button. Power-on by holding down the select button a few seconds. Simple. Also, There's an unlock slide button on top to remove/re-attach the keychain. It has a photo stand that unfolds from the back.I'd give it 4 stars if it came in black!
