Excellent Bread Pan
True to the description, home made bread doesn't stick to the dimpled loaf pan! I used a small amount of real butter to grease it (DO NOT USE CANNED SPRAYS) The loaves just slide right out. Even cooking and easy to grab with a pot holder. I'm very happy with this purchase. I may save up to buy a second one.

Wonderful even baking
I have baked banana bread for 40 years using the same recipe. I have always used glass or silicone pans. The very top center of the bread always is under done. I've adjusted the temperature, filled the pans less, used the mini loaf size... All to no avail. Who knew it was the pans? I read an article that said for sweet breads, you should use a good quality, light colored metal pan to get evenly baked bread. So I bought one. The banana bread was baked perfectly even, no undercooked center! I immediately bought a second one and also bought a square pan for brownies 😉

Doughmakers pans are the best!
I bake my own bread regularly and this pan is the best, yes, better than stoneware! The browning is even and the pan easy to clean. I have other doughmakers pans and highly recommend them!

Best bread pans I've ever owned!
I usually don't do anything but put my formed dough in the pans to rise and bake. I have 2 that I bought in 2018 and use at least once a week, (along with some disposable aluminum pans to give bread to friends). The pans look as nice as the day I goth them. I've never had to "scrub", just put some soapy water in and use my dish brush. Most crumbs come out with rinsing but I use a brush anyway. If I'm not making a yeast dough, I line the pan with parchment paper to make it easier to remove the loaf. photo was taken 5 minutes ago and bread was baked last night. YUM!I saw one review where the pan had dark spots after the first use. I have not had any problem like that and wonder if there was something in the dough that caused a chemical reaction.I have other Dough Maker baking pans and absolutely love them!

Why did I wait so long to buy these- don't make my mistake!
I thought about giving these pans 4 stars, only for the reason they are a bit small. I grew up believing 9x5 pan is THE standard size and thought that's what all loaf pans should be. Those old 9x5's of mine had done their time- I was grabbing a paper towel and wiping out the rust before each use (time for new pans). These (as stated) are 8.5" x 4.5"- so are a bit small, and my loafs have come out 'generous.' They stated the size, so it would be unfair of me to knock them for that. The 5 stars are warranted because they are just superior pans. They have a really good weight to them, and that 'pebbling' works as advertised. I've only made yeast breads so far in them- no sweet quick breads or cakes- and the loaves slide right out of the pan like nothing. I look at the pans after baking and think, well, I guess I should wash them, because that's what you're supposed to do, but there's not a crumb or piece of anything on the pan. Looks like I just pulled it off the shelf. The edges make for easy gripping in and out of the oven. I will definitely look to Doughmakers for any future bakeware I buy.

Doesn't Brown The Sides
I have thought about sending this loaf pan back. It doesn't allow the sides to get brown

It's small for a loaf pan and I don't like the pebbly surface
I thought this would be a nice thick aluminum pan and it is, but it's also too small for half a standard recipe of a quick bread, which is mostly what I bake. Then when I read the instructions they say not to use spray shortening because it's hard to clean out of the pebbly surface, where with the smooth interior of the Nordic Ware, I can use whichever shortening is easiest, even for just holding in a paper liner. This is my now favorite loaf pan: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OSNQXQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
