it is the right part for my cj5 however it came with 2 lock rings and no o-ring seal so now i have to find a seal.

I tested the ohm readings on this unit when it first arrived and again when I dropped the tank to replace the old one to compare results. This one read correctly while the old unit had obvious errors below a 1/2 tank. Might need to squirt a little WD40 on the moving float level hinge to get a smooth up and down motion but otherwise it works fine. Only complaint is that it takes several minutes to get the needle on the dash gauge to rise up when the Jeep is first started (First time I filled the tank after installing this I thought I had bought a piece of crap but halfway home it was reading like it is supposed to) so you might have to give it a few minutes to get an accurate tank level reading.

I ordered this sending unit a while ago and when arrived the sock filter, that goes on the pick up tube before unit is placed in the tank, was not in the box, immediately sent an email to CSE Offroad and they asked me to send them a picture of the contents of the box, which I did, they checked their inventory and determined that the vendor had an error and sent out a few without the filter. CSE worked with the vendor and got sock filters in and sent me me my missing sock filter. Sock filter in place, sending unit in new tank and my Jeep is all back together.

Looks cheaply made. Now I know why most CJs have a non-functioning gas gauge. Same exact design as the one it's replacing. It's 2022... There isn't something better than an open wire rheostat for in a fuel tank?

Perfect fit for my 1980 CJ 7 with the Pontiac iron duke 4 cylinder. Gas gauge works fine now just make sure you have a good ground to frame when installing and make sure the wires are connected to the sending unit before reinstalling the gas tank

Had to bend the pickup tube slightly to allow installation (bottomed out on bottom of tank).Easy hookup. Everything's there.

Well the box it came in is not made to protect while shipping, i suppose bubble wrap would have helped, so 3/5 stars for not delivering undamaged. So i have done repairs and it looks good to go, good luck, Cheers !EDIT, update. Now that i have dropped my tank i can see that this is NOT the CORRECT UNIT for a 1983 JEEP Cj7 , my tank has a big plastic nut that retains the sender and the pipes coming out of this replacement sending unit are way too short to clear this nut.....EDIT 2, update. my Jeep as it turns out has a 20 Gallon gas tank apparently this is easy to confirm as it is a plastic tank where the 15 gal unit is steel, So i should have and since have ordered this ... "Crown Automotive 5362090K Fuel Sending Unit Kit" Soooo check your tank size before ordering peps, Krank on !

Et j’ai effectué l’installation.Tout fonctionne bien. Donc, je recommande à Amazone d’enlever cet avis:
