I am completely obsessed with Dutch ovens and have made it my personal mission to collect one in every color like they’re Pokèmon—gotta catch ‘em all! This 6-quart beauty is everything I hoped for and more. The color? Gorgeous. The build? Solid and weighty in that “you know it’s going to last forever”-kind-of-way. But let’s talk versatility: for soups and stews, it’s a breeze; for no knead bread; it’s crusty perfection every time; for roasting a whole chicken, yes, it can and ENTIRE chicken; for one-pot pasta meals, it offers easy cleanup and major flavor; for braising, simmering, baking, and sautèing, this pot does it ALL! It it goes from stove to oven like a champ and looks stunning as a centerpiece on the table. I even leave it out on the stovetop sometimes when I’m not using it because it’s just that pretty. Fantastic dutch oven & affordable!
I bought this oven to start my sourdough journey. It is very easy to clean and works well for making sourdough! It is heavy but that comes with dutch ovens! The Amazon Basics Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven (6-Quart, Blue) exceeds expectations in every aspect. Its performance, durability, and aesthetic appeal make it a standout product. Works as Good as Any Other for this Price
Bottom Line: No, it's not a Creuset, but you can spend your savings on quality ingredients that will cook fine in this instead.This is a Dutch oven I'd recommend to anyone. Its size makes it perfect for meal-prepping or family dinners, it's well-made and doesn't scratch or chip if you use it properly [i.e. stick to wood/plastic utensils, be careful during cleaning, etc.], cleans easily, and looks like every other cast iron Dutch oven on the market. The main issue I expected was uneven cooking or heating, but this works just fine on several different ovens I've used it on. I got the blue because it was the cheapest option, but it actually looks pretty nice. These probably aren't true "chef grade" or a legacy item like a Creuset, but as someone who meal preps and cooks for large events a lot, I'm considering getting a second one.

Inexpensive, Heavy, Cast Iron, Easy to Clean, Purple Gem - Works Great.
I appreciate the affordable price of this item.I was surprised how heavy this item actually is.My purpose for this purchase was to use this as a soup pot. The results have been perfect. I started shopping for a soup pot after using an expensive pot my SIL brought over, filled with soup.I expected to pay $350-$450 for a pot like the one my SIL had. I was thrilled to find this one for $50 and it is Purple. I love purple! The food cooks evenly and quickly. The pot is easy to clean. The only downside is that it is heavy. Imagine being surprised that Cast Iron is heavy. This is a Fabulous Deal from Amazon Basics. I am very happy with this purchase.

Features and value. Hopefully durability.
TWO YEAR UPDATE: TEchnically, two years and two months. As you can see from the second photo, the deterioration of the enamel has continued. A few more chips on the handles as well. Frankly, it’s been worth the money and my wife’s only real complaint is the size and weigh of the pot. So, I expect to buy a second Dutch oven by holiday cooking season. This one, one of the French name brands and a smaller size.ONE YEAR UPDATE: we find ourselves using this at least two to three times a week. As you can see, some chipping on the handles, and a lot of wear on the inside surface. It’s important you know we only use hot water, dish detergent and occasionally baking soda to clean it.I’m not happy with the bottom wear but for the price, I’m satisfied with the value. My advice, learn on this then see if you can justify a name brand at a much higher price.******Ive never used a Dutch Oven before, but find myself doing more experimental cooking and baking than ever before, so I decided to play with a DO. Like lots of people, I watched a number of YouTube comparison videos to educate myself in what to look for and how much I should spend.I certainly wasn’t ready to spend in excess of $300 on a brand name French product, although I don’t question the quality of the two major brands. Check!I also love my cast iron skillets, but didn’t want a raw cast iron surface. Check!One vid pointed out the importance of having large loop handles so you can easily (LOL! It’s cast iron and heavy) pick up the hot pot using mitts. Check!The lid fits snugly on the pot, which several vids pointed out the main namebrand top does not. I like this feature, so... Check!Speaking of handles, it was also pointed out that with handles that didn’t rise above the level of the pot, you could use a flat surface on top to allow it to drain off fluids. Check!Another vid pointed out a feature I haven’t seen mentioned in the manufacturers info or any of the reviews so far on this site. That’s the “nubs” or “bumps” on the inner side of the lid. (see attached picture) It was pointed out that this allows evaporation to gather and drip back onto what’s being cooked, thereby resulting in a moister dish. Check!Also, while enamel chips, it’s not. poisonous and isn’t sharp enough to cause any internal damage if ingested so big deal. I’ve only used my one time, but it didn’t chip. I’ll report back if it does excessively. Check!Finally, it’s cheaper by far than the product I was planning on buying (a Lodge), so... Check!Whether it lasts or not is another matter. I can’t advise you there. But, if I have any problems, I’ll update this review.

Great Dutch oven for the price.
I was so excited to get a good quality Dutch oven for a good price. For the price it is actually a very good Dutch oven. It is a heavy and quality pan. I recently got really into sour dough and it has made a huge difference to have this Dutch oven. I love the purple color, so much more fun than the normal boring colors I have in my kitchen. It works just as well as a name brand Dutch oven but at a much better price. I have made both soup and bread in it and it has held up very nicely. After a couple of uses I did notice one small paint chip, but I am still happy with it otherwise. It is able to handle a large batch of soup and a pretty large loaf of sour dough bread. I definitely recommend for someone who just got into cooking/ baking but doesn’t want to break the bank just to get a Dutch oven. 4 stars, I took off a star for the chipped paint.

Nice heavy cast iron.
We ordered a blue, but received a green. Doesn't matter. The quality is nice/ Heavy cast iron and the internal ceramic looks fine. Time will tell how well it lasts.
