Love this crossword puzzle book
I am a big fan of Los Angeles Times puzzles and this one does not disappoint. It is not easy and it is not difficult - just right. Would recommend.

Not the best...
I do a lot of Sunday puzzles and am always ordering books. I probably do hundreds of crossword puzzles a year and always order my books from Amazon. However, in this version, there were a couple of things that were really irritating: they're trying too hard with the 'smart' wordplay for the clues (I had to check my answers in the back way more than usual and came away just shaking my head at how they got that answer). Plus, there were at least 2 puzzles where they had a numbered space in the grid but no corresponding clue! I've done a number of puzzles where they intentionally leave something blank, but this was not part of such a theme. These were editing mistakes. Plus, the paper quality is more like newsprint. I'll go back to the NYT or WSJ Sundays. Both for the quality of the clues and the paper.

Challenging
For the most part I like the difficulty level of this book. There are some puzzles that are ridiculously difficult that I can barely get halfway through but more of them are a good level of difficulty to make me work at it. Still I can't usually finish a whole puzzle but maybe 90%. Completely agree that the puzzle is way too small. They should try to make it a little bigger.

Contemporary puzzles
I love these puzzles. But some of the books are really dated. This is not. Excellent price too!

great past-time
IMO, the LA Times Sunday Crossword is the best one out there. Challenging without making me pull my hair out. Fun and entertaining to work. They keep my mind sharp and cranking on all cylinders. Highly recommend

Quirky in a good way
More challenging than many others of the "Sunday" variety just because it has some twists. Fun for two to pass back and forth when you get stuck. Doesn't suffer too badly from intersecting names of obscure ten year old actors and sports figures. Among the better ones.
