It can be inexpensive, and work great
The quality is great. When cooking rice it has great capacity. The texture of rice has a great cooking ability, also has a nonstick coating, and portable from one area to the next.

Very pleasantly surprised
This is my first product review ever, but since I do rely on these myself for online purchases, I felt I needed to contribute. So far I'm very impressed with the outcome of this cooker. I've done just plain rice, chili, and jambalaya so far. ALL turned out great. I had a rice cooker for years that was really junk (as it turns out, by comparison) and pretty much resorted to boiling rice in a pot on the stove. Following the directions for this pot delivered perfect, fluffy rice - I was stunned!!It's clear that one way they're able to offer this cooker at such a reasonable price is being very economical with their materials. Okay, so you can't play stickball with it; I think it'll be fine. Also no frills; that's also just fine with me.It cleans up VERY easily - the nonstick main bowl is as easy or easier to clean than my Cuisinart nonstick pans.Perhaps the most impressive for me (technical geek that I am) was how the cooker knows when the food is done and switches itself over to "warm" automatically. So far, it's worked perfectly; food being cooked just right. Pretty cool - no human estimating of how much time to cook the rice (which I always goofed up, apparently).A note of clarification on the manual: the manual clearly explains that the included measuring cup is not a full cup, but really 3/4 of a cup. However, there are increment notches on the cup (1/2, 3/4) that confused me - was I supposed to fill the cup to the top or to the 3/4 mark with rice? You need to fill the supplied cup to the top to get a full 3/4 cup of rice for the 2 cups of cooked rice. (result of my measuring and then trying it in the cooker)Hope this helps.

ABSOLUTELY LIVE IT
Great little rice cooker. I don’t put more than 4 cups (raw rice) as I use basmati rice and they elongate quite a bit so if you put too many you don’t get the full flavor and effect of the rice you pay more for

No idea where the "14 cups" comes from
Seems to work well, but 4 dry and 8 cooked cups is the absolute max, and that's pushing it. Very simple operation and clean up. Remains to be seen how well it will work with brown rice or other foods. Would recommend either way tho.

Easy to clean with the non-stick coating.
Came with measuring cup that is sync with the measure marker inside the pot. Haven't messed up a single pot of rice, yet. I highly recommend this size (for the bachelor), and quality of this brand. The non-stick coating makes it super easy to clean.

It costs more to use the warranty than you pay for the cooker
For 6 months this was just as nice as our old Salton Rice cooker. We bought this one because of the nice color and a nice price. It worked great then all of a sudden for no reason it started turning itself off after a few minutes. Not a nice thing when you start your rice cooker and then do other chores expecting to have ready to eat rice when you come inside from doing chores.Tried everything to get it to stay turned on but it comes down to a poor quality switch build. Carefully read the warranty before you buy it. You must pay to ship it back to the company then pay a $20 fee for return shipping. That brings the price up almost as high as buying a good cooker in the first place. The one thing I will say nice about it is the teflon cooking bowl is really nice and it is the same size as the old Salton cooker I thankfully never gave away. Once I decide on the color we want I'm just gong to paint the old Salton and use the teflon bowl.... I the long run it might have been worth $20 for a teflon bowl for my old cooker- I tell myself that just to keep from getting mad that I bought a POS that lasted long enough to be out of the return window. There you have it. Save yourself the headache and buy a quality cooker the first time.
