Evidence: Poems

I love poetry by Mary Oliver. I keep a stack of her poetry books by my rocking chair and read them at times. Her work helps me to reconnect with Nature. I love her insights.

Currently, this is my favorite of the poetry collections I have for Mary Oliver.

I love Mary Oliver! Book was shipped in same carton as a cleaning liquid that leaked. Book cover was damaged, paper is very thin!

I found this poetry book at the local library, recognized the author's name and brought it home. I loved it - was even moved to tears by the one about Twirler. Her poems divinize the world and remind us how little we see as we march around "ears stuffed with self" (I paraphrase!). I wanted to have a copy to read repeatedly so I promptly purchased a kindle version (which unfortunately has some formatting problems with some poems) - still I prefer to have the imperfect format available to re-read now and then than not to have these lovely poems. I also purchased a copy for a dear friend who responded that he loved the poems too. So to be explicit here - that's an unreserved 5 star review (where do we click on the stars?! I never reviewed on Amazon before)

Got this as a gift for my poet friend, and I actually liked reading his book so much, that he bought me my own copy for my birthday :) Mary Oliver is a wonderful poet. I never liked poetry to be honest, but her poems are very visual and relatable making them quite enjoyable.

Mary Oliver is a wonderful poet.

I wish I walked through life with eyes as sharp and loving as Mary Oliver. Such beauty and gift she sees everywhere she walks. Reading her poetry is like waking up to the life you've been given.

This was a gift.

more could I possibly say about the heartfelt words woven into meaning of a life built on awareness...touchstones of reality.
