Once great, now awful - do not buy!
The original JVC Xtreme Xplosives were insanely good, possibly the best ear buds for the price; massive bass, sturdy construction, great value for money. I lost my original red pair (the type with the thick red rubberised cable that came in an XX hard case - incidentally still going strong some 8+ years after purchase), so I eagerly bought these new ones. Sadly these new versions have been completely value engineered by penny-pinching designers: smaller drivers, cheap horrible pound shop cable, tinny sound, all around cheap and nasty build quality. RIP Xtreme Xplosives. For a much better alternative try Betron DC950 - huge bass via 11.5mm drivers, premium build quality, and cheaper (around £11 as of July 2019).

Decent value for money
For earphones that cost just over £10 when I bought them, they're not too bad and serve their purpose. Buy them if you're after an inexpensive pair of earphones you can listen to music and call with casually.Pros:- Decently balanced sound quality for the money- In-line controls for pause/play music and calls- In-line mic for calls and call quality is good with these- Fits nicely in your ears, isn't painful after wearing them after an hour. Good for journeys/gym/watching music etcCons:- Feels very cheap from earbud to wire construction. Yes these are cheap but they don't feel much better than gumy earphones- Despite being called "Xtreme Xplosives", bass is anything but. Rather wimpy actually but not poor. Bassheads look elsewhere.

Good while they last
These were very good earphones for the price with decent sound quality and a reasonable mic. However, they unfortunately didn't last and have completely died after just over a year of use. I don't know if I got unlucky (especially as they were only just out of warranty) or if the build quality just isn't that good, but if you want longer lasting earphones I would recommend finding something else.

Absolutely FANTASTIC...
I bought these because I had Xtreme Xplosives (in red) which unfortunately broke after 6 years of constant use. These are great for working out and have amazing sound. if you're in a room with the TV on, you can put these on and use as ear plugs! People can't hear what I am listening to even if the music is on full blast which is great. Only thing I would like to see is maybe a clip (beneficial for working out). Other than this, this is a great buy.

Slightly annoying
The mic button is far too sensitive as it is the whole pod which is pressed. Also hangs too low so gets caught in clothing and keeps activating. Have tied it up to shorten still catches though. Used for twice daily dog walk and often end up getting frustrated with it.The sound quality is not fantastic although still better than bluetooth earpods and an added bonus of 90 degree plug so less likely to break cable unlike those which are straight.
