TExES English Language Arts and Reading 7-12 231 Teacher Certification Study Guide Test Prep Revised Edition

Great supplement to the free online test manual, but if you're tight on money, you don't really need this to pass the test. I used it, but definitely did not read through the whole text. Took exam and passed the first time.

I passed the first time. Just go through the entire test in this book including the writing portion, and use the online resources from TEA like practice tests and you’ll do fine. There were typos in this book but not to where I learned wrong info. I recommend this book.

I like that this book has a lot of definitions, but the practice questions are not the same as the questions on the test. The teachers questions usually give classroom scenarios. I didn't like that the author explained things as if talking to a friend. The writing was not very professional or formal. I would not recommend this book to a friend.

I would not recommend this book for preparation for the ELA 231 test. It was very informative and packed with information, but the actual test was very different from the study guide. The only source I have found that helped prepare me for the test was the free download from the TExES Preparation program.

This was great review for literary devices but not pedagogical strategies. I passed the exam the first time, but I didn't use much of the information presented in the book.

This manual is very effective when it comes to the essay part!and the testing questions are very detailed along witht he answers.

This was SO helpful for the exam. The manual provided by TExES lists the things you need to know and this manual goes in depth in explaining everything. I owe my success to this book.

This book provides relevant knowledge aligned to the official guide. It expands the official guide. This print version looks great.
