Worth it! I’m uncertain why others reviewed this as too small, or complained about the netting falling off, or mention poor instructions. It’s 5 pieces which go together pretty simply, with or without instructions. It’s definitely taller than other advertised items for smaller children and if the netting is PROPERLY installed it can’t fall off. It’s VERY sturdy and if filled with some sand or water you certainly won’t have and tipping issues with outside use. My grandson will be thrilled when Easter arrives. The only thing I can’t attest to is that I saw other complaints written or for the collapsing hoop. At the moment, I’m not seeing a problem with that, and I did note that another reviewer said after contacting the manufacturer (little Tykes) he was mailed some type of clip that fixed the issue. Looking at the product, I could easily make this a non-collapsing hoop and keep it upright with one screw.Obviously, this is not comparable to the $200 metal basketball hoop that you see, but that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m a grandmother looking for a basketball hoop for my four-year-old grandson that he will not outgrow in a year. I’m no expert, but I believe my grandson will be able to use this for at least four or five years and for the price. It’s well beyond worth that. Please see my photos for assistance. Also, I’m a 64 year-old grandmother who put this together in minutes. I did find using a rubber mallet worked very well when attaching the hoop to the stand. There’s nothing difficult about this and honestly no instructions are needed.

This is a great little tikes product for a little older kids! While my toddlers used a similar and much smaller product, this one is a hit with my 7-11 year old kids now. It extends upward and reaches almost to our basement ceiling, providing the challenge the older kids need. Yet it can also be lowered for younger kids to be able to "slam dunk" as well. Easy enough to assemble that my 7 year old did it himself, rather than wait until Mom was available to help later! The breakaway rim is great to avoid someone just breaking it completely off. Wonderful way for the kids to exercise while indoors during winter.

DO NOT BUY! Hope doesn’t stay up. Barley used and immediately it stopped working. I expect more from little tikes and am shocked how poorly this is made.

My 2 year old grandson is obsessed with this toy. He is still too small to "dunk" but this toy is just enough of a challenge. It's sturdy and well made.

This hoop is REALLY nice for kids. It goes something like 8 feet tall. I bought it for my home---indoors! I was SHOCKED when I put it together and it was so big. Not even just tall, the backboard is huge. It's made with strong plastic and very easy to assemble. It is NOT easy to disassemble though. We had to pry it apart with a screwdriver. I gave it four out of five only because I believe the photos are a little deceiving. Here it is in my living room. That clock is probably 18 inches wide for some perspective. Overall a great product and if you read the specks and do the measurements you'll be fine. I just went by the photos and was a little disappointed.

UPDATED: I contacted Little Tikes, and they sent me a replacement rim and sliding piece, free of charge. It was not too complicated to replace, and so far the new rim seems to be staying in place during regular play. I am pleased with the customer service I received.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I agree with the other reviews that the one problem with this product is that the breakaway rim does not stay up well enough to withstand regular shooting. Every-other shot or so, the rim will collapse down, and then you have to put it back up. When your child is not tall enough to reach the rim, it makes it difficult for them to play by themselves for any length of time.The rest of the product is great. We put water in the base instead of sand, which has worked great. The ball keeper on the back of the base is a great spot to put the ball when you stop playing for a bit. The height adjustments give a good range of options for different levels of play.I go back to the drawback which is the breakaway rim not staying up well. It's annoying and takes away from the play experience.

good sturdy product, it was easy to put together and all 4 of my boys play on it in the house (13,12,6,6 year olds). it adjust so that the 6 year olds can practice their dunking and goes high enough that the older boys can shoot around, goofing off. it almost never gets walked by without some one taking at lest one shot. no problems here just hope my big boy dont tear it up, i dont see any kids 9 and under tearing this up even dunking on it unless they are plain destructive and mean to, or maybe over a long time. we have only had it a few weeks but the 6 year olds go at it pretty good for hours and no sign of anything yet. the ball is perfect for inside the house it has just enough bounce to let them dribble but it doesn't shoot off the rim and bounce and hit things all over the house. i mean it probably would if some one was throwing it hard but a normal missed shot stays in the area. i definitely recommend if you have boys who like basketball and hate having the hoop hanging on the door.

Birthday gift for my 3 year old nephew. It was a big hit and will grow with him awhile, since it adjusts height.
