One Liter of Tears - A Young Girl's Fight for Life (Aya's Diary) Tankobon Softcover

So, I came the drama adaption a while back...I couldn't stop watching episode after episode my hart ached this strong girl who really did value her life, every moment of it. At the end it said how it was adapted from this book and I searched for it and, I was so happy to see that it had been translated into English. This is definitely a book that should be on everyone's reading list, just reading this and seeing how simple tasks we take for granted like, walking, become such a valued ability. Such a good book, I couldn't put it down. It's a light novel so I finished quickly, but that emotion was still the same in the end I was in tears, snotty nose and all.

I ordered this book as a teaching aid for my class this year; I'm teaching the film and wanted to be able to have students read sections of the original text to compare and contrast the director's interpretation with Aya's real words. I was so happy to find out that this seller had a copy of the book!The whole time, between placing my order and receiving it, the seller was so polite and always so forthcoming with information with each reply written to my messages to them.The book, though used, is in pristine condition! The spine was perfectly intact and the dust-jacket of the book was also brand-new looking.I'd absolutely buy from this seller again!

I found the story very heart felt and personal. the TV show and movie did not really convey her actual pain, but I suppose that would not be very entertaining. But it sure completed her as a human being. Which gave her the depth of feeling and honest love for the people around her. I hope that I could have learned something from her even after all these years. my best to her remaining family and God help us all.

This is such a powerful story I cannot get over it. I found myself asking God to take me instead of Aya. The movie adapted from Aya's diary is very accurate, but the t.v. drama is almost all fiction. This should be mandatory reading in school! What kids could learn from Aya's hard working spirit, her never give up attitude and desire to help others. I am in awe of her and will do all I can to keep her memory alive. Aya has become a part of me and I will never be the same.

The book was the size of a mass market paperback which I do not like because its uncomfortable to read aside from that small detail I loved the book. The story of Aya is very touching, motivating and raw with emotion. The notes from her Dr and mother really bring this book together. I would definitely recommend.

This book was so touching, I cried, I felt for Aya, I feel so much inspiration that if I were diagnosed with the disease that she had, I would fight just like her. I know that is easier said than done but still it was so touching. I have also seen the drama that was based off of Aya's story, and it made me cry so much.

Shipping took about two weeks, but came perfectly. Nothing was damaged and it's a great book to read. Not dramatic like the movie, but still inspirational to read nonetheless.

I loved the movie and the book is very touching. What an amazing girl she was.
