Nice unit, Easy to install yourself if you follow the book
This is a nice unit. I read hundreds of reviews before making my choice to replace a Mach 3 13.5K- BTU unit on my camper, comparing technical specs and even performed servicing the Mach 3 before I decided to make the swap. I got to look under the cover for both and compare components. The inside components between the two units have nearly the exact same design layout, components, blower/fan, etc. but the Mach 15 is a little bit smaller package and a 2 piece shroud. I had trouble sliding the old Mach 13 shroud off for troubleshooting without dragging cover across evaporator fins but Mach 15 2 pc shroud is much easier. But it will flex a little so don't lift unit with it. The unit is easy to unload and lift to the roof, but the two piece shroud is not for lifting and sill crack if not careful. This went on a pop up camper, but If I had to hoist to a higher roof installation I would consider leave it in the box/pallet and unpackage it then. The pallet this unit cam on was only 15 lb wood and wrapped in cardboard but truck carrier delivered in perfect shape. It comes with the gasket installed and crush indicators so you cant screw it up. Follow the installation instructions in the book and save yourself hundreds from a dealer install. If you have the skills to assemble a grill you can swap units out. Follow the book. The inside unit is a perfect match for the 14x14 opening and easy to complete installation, I completed the job in under 2 hours. The duct installation trimming and taping took the longest just to make sure it was tight so no air leaks from unit. Remember the air comes straight down into the roof unit and makes a 90 degree turn to vents, so this vinyl duct will puff up like a balloon and any leaks will recirculate back into the inlet side.I'm not sure this unit is that much quieter than a Mach 13,5 BTU because its probably using the same blower with a more efficient compressor and evaporator but it does run smooth with no rattles and provide plenty of cold air. Is it worth the price difference of $100 for an upgrade? yes probably for us and should never need to worry about keeping cool even in middle of hot summer camping in Florida. If we get 6 years out of it, for $100/year its a reasonable tradeoff.Good luck with your choice. installation is easy. Nice unit.

Fantastic Cooling, Great Price, Free Shipping, Poor Packaging
The air-conditioning unit works fantastically, much better than the old R22 unit I had. Installation was very easy, and the unit has been wonderful during several hot weather cycles. Delta-T is always over 20 degrees! So much for the praise....I was disappointed with the shipping container. The unit was shipped by truck from Tennessee to California, but barely survived the trip. The AC unit was bolted to a flimsy pallet, and during transit the bolts pulled through the soft wood of the pallet. Over the unit, were two plastic straps holding on some cardboard that was placed around the unit and the pallet. During transit, the straps loosened, the cardboard was torn, and the pallet was broken. Somehow, the AC unit itself survived without a scratch, but the packaging looked like it had been through a war.I kept everything from my old AC unit(same manufacturer), and I was glad I did. What is not clear in any of the documentation I could find is that the new AC unit does not come with the controlling circuit board. I recovered the controller board from my old 13.5K BTU unit, installed it on the bolts near the evaporator coil of the new AC unit, and the old controller seems to work fine with this new 15K BTU unit. The new AC unit did come with the roof gasket installed, so that was terrific. I also had to use all the mounting brackets, bolts, plenum baffles, and screws from the old original AC unit.

Upper Unit only - No install hardware included (plan accordingly as I did)
Product was purchased for a NEW install in my old camper. Seller contacted to verify that "this is the upper unit only," and asked "do you need to purchase the lower control panel also?" I was aware that they were sold separately and had purchase both parts (but ended up from different vendors on Amazon). NOTE: ALL HARDWARE IS ONLY INCLUDED WITH THE SEPARATELY PURCHASED LOWER CONTROL PANEL. That means all Coleman screws, mounting frame etc are not supplied with this Upper Unit. This air conditioner included the install manual and the foam seal (attached to the unit). You do not need to purchase the Amazon suggested "foam seal" as it is included. The instructions to install the Lower Control Panel are included in the install manual for the Upper Unit. There are no instructions included with the Lower Control Panel package. Instructions to install this unit are also available online at manufacturer's website.Unit arrived on a 24' semi trailer with Tommy lift but the driver and I lifted the palletted package off the truck easily. The packaging and the product arrived in good shape with no cracks or dents. Installation went as expected into a 14" x 14" roof vent that existed on my camper. Due to my camper being a 15 yr old Ultra Lite, and in marginal condition, I added a steel U support beam in front and behind the mounting position to add support. My camper was prewired for 20amp service for an AC unit so connecting the wiring was not difficult. The unit fired up as expected and cooled adequately. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Dont use my review as a guide for install, my camper is... special.
