Great for pressing those blocks at a good value
The price was reasonable and the mat works perfectly next to my machine. I use a dry iron and I put a clean cloth over it because I am doing paper foundation piecing which you print the pattern on. I don’t want the ink to transfer on my mat.

Great quilting investment!
I’ve been searching for a solution to streamline my sewing room. I came across this felt ironing mat on a search and was intrigued. I have had disappointing encounters with other creative supplies and approached it with some doubt and skepticism. The reviews were promising so I decided to give it a try. I’ve only had it a couple a days, but boy am I impressed! The size is great for ironing and assembling blocks, the surface is smooth and the pad is thick and substantial. My seams have never been so flat! Great investment and addition to my quilting studio!

Works awesome with ZERO smell!
Stays flat and fabulous and my pieced seams set perfectly. I use both a dry iron and steam. Steam does not affect it, it is porous, so you might want to consider using a small dish towel under it while steaming to protect your table from any moisture. I've only had slight condensation one time because I was crazy steaming some stubborn seams. Big factor is this thing does not smell. I've had 2 others and they both smelled even without using any steam. I need to get a larger one and this company will definitely get my business again. I couldn't be happier. It came packaged in a plastic bag with a piece of cardboard to keep it flat, and when not in use, I store it in its orig. packaging.

A Terrific Pressing Mat
I purchased this mat with some skepticism, thinking it might be another quilting fad gizmo that may or may not live up to the hype. I did research online options, found this one to be the best value for size and price out there. When it arrived I was impressed with the quality of the felted wool and the smoothness of the surface. After using it a few times, I am even more impressed. Enough so that I am looking to purchase another one, in a smaller size, to have right at my side when I am piecing quilt blocks. I use the large one on my big ironing board and find it really great for pressing pieced borders, large blocks (>12"), and machine embroideries. I am in love with this mat!

Ironing pad
I love the wool ironing pads. I’m a quilter and deal with small (sometimes really tiny) pieces of fabric that need to be pressed quickly. Hardly worth getting out the ginormous ironing board and iron. So imagine my surprise when I found these wool ironing pads. They are the perfect size for small quick jobs. I purchased my first one about 3 years ago, it’s 13” x 18”, and 3/4” thick. I used it constantly. So much so that decided I need a new one. So I purchased this one. However, it’s not as durable as my old one or as dense. It measures 13.5” x 17” and 1/2 thick. Plus you can barely stick a straight pin into the old one because it’s so dense. Whereas a straight pin sticks in easily. I like the new one, but since I use my desk to place the pad on, I’m uneasy about using the new one by itself. I don’t think it’s thick or dense enough to use alone so I place it on top of the old one when I need to iron something, then under the old one to keep it from getting worn like the old one.Overall, I’m ok with the new one. But you might want to consider using 2 just to make sure the heat of the iron will not penetrate through to the surface you’re using. Just a word to users, in case you don’t already know, do NOT use your self-healing cutting board under the ironing pad. The heat from your iron will absolutely damage your cutting board and cannot be repaired.I recommend this wool pad, but consider buying 2 for the extra protection.

Wrong size sent
I’ m sure that this product will work great, seems to be nice quality. I can’t give it 5 stars because the first one I ordered ( 17” x 24” ) was not the right size. The label/sheet showed that size but it was actually a square with measurements of 17” x 17”. I could clearly see where someone must have put a note on it saying it wasn’t the ride and perhaps sent back. I contacted Amazon and explained that I would keep the item if they would adjust the price and that I didn’t have time to return this one. I work 64-72 hrs a week and I would have to drive 35 miles to take it to UPS or Fed Ex. It would have been fine had they just did a price adjustment but I got a new one shipped (17” x 24” which was the right measurements) but then was charged for it again. So basically I paid full price for 2 of them with one not being the right measurements.

Love the Ironing Mat!
I have a large cutting cabinet and decided to move my ironing station to this since is taller. I do see a difference in using the wool ironing pad verses a regular mini table top iron board as well as the other iron pads I have. They slipped around and maybe it very frustrating! Plus bending over was terrible! Now with the higher height and NO SLIPPING, I have no issues. It does retain the heat well but does not go thru to the cutting mat covering my cutting cabinet surface! Now, if I can keep my cats from thinking its their new scratch pad! I have had to cover it with fabric to deter them! Anyway, I am satisfied with my purchase and am finding it very useful!
