Casio Men's AD-S800WH-2AVCF Solar Watch with Blue Resin Band

Love the watch but its always a crap shoot when you order from Amazon Warehouse on whether you get the item that you ordered. In this case, they sent a different color/model than advertised, but I still like the watch.

What a pleasant surprise! I purchased this watch to serve as another casual watch for my collection but didn't expect I'd like it as much as I do. First, it looks so much nicer on my wrist than what I expected from the photos and it has a very comfortable strap. I like large watches and this is a nice size, but I also like a watch that allows me to quickly tell the time with just a glance and this certainly fills that bill. I was initially drawn to it because it's solar and rated for 200 Meters, two things I covet. I own quite a few solar watches and can charge them fully whenever needed with a Casio light charger I purchased from Amazon. I debated quite a while before buying the charger but utilize it frequently and it's proven to be well worth the investment. However the one thing that most surprised me about this watch was the usefullness of the digital display. It's functionality totally transforms this watch from being just a simple time teller to being a much more useful tool. The user can choose what information to display, which is nice, but it also allows this watch to provide the digital accuracy needed for timing functions that a strictly analog watch can't. And, as expected of a solar watch, it keeps you informed as to the solar battery's charge via a gauge. I find myself wearing this watch more frequently than I expected because it's comfortable, good size, nicer looking than I anticipated and it allows me to tell the time, day and date at a glance. But I think the biggest reason has to do with the fact that I much prefer a watch with an analog display for the time. Unfortunately I sacrifice having access to accurate timing functions when I wear my analog watches, but not with this one! And I'm surprised at how frequently I've found myself using the digital timing functions on this watch, especially the countdown timer. So this watch gives me the best of both worlds and I wish I had more watches like this, especially solar ones. And, even though this isn't a G-shock, it sure seems to be a tough watch. I didn't appreciate how much I was getting for the money until I started using it. It's an excellent value and definitely provides a lot more benefits than most watches in this price category.

I really like this watch. I'm a trademan- I own a small electrical contracting company with a few employees that work in the field with me. We do commercial and industrial work. I have a very difficult time finding an inexpensive, but reliable watch that doesn't have its crystal completely exposed. By this, I mean most watches have the entire face of the crystal on top. So, if you walk past a concrete wall, or otherwise brush against something, the crystal gets scratched. Now, do this daily while working in tight spaced, with your arms reaching in and out of things, and the watch doesn't last more than a few months without getting lots of scratches. This watch has molded parts (I don't know what else to call them) that stick up past the lens around its edges that gives it some protection.I also like not having to replace the battery. I work indoors and outdoors, and wear this all day long, and all night long. It has never died, or shown a diminished capacity due to lack of power. I wear it in the shower, in the rain, and while reaching my arms into water, and it has shown no signs of water infiltration. I hammer, and strike, and bang, and bump into things, and yet all the shock this watch has gone through hasn't disabled it in any way. The band is plastic, so I'm not worried about brushing up against a live wire or part- I do remove it when I have to put my flash gear on, or just my gloves for live work.So, in my eyes, it seems like a great choice for us guys who work with our hands and arms.

Love the watch so far! I wanted a g-shock, but found the price on this to be much more in line with my budget and while it lacks many of the g-shock features, it seems to be just as durable. I'm a female but liked the watch so much that I bought it even though it's sold as a men's watch. I've already received compliments on the color and style!PROS: - no need to ever replace battery since it's solar powered- great color- large face for easy viewing of analog time- tough and waterproof - have already drenched it and used it to move some heavy items around and banged it up a bit but no scratches or marks- comfortable to wearCONS:- very hard to figure out how to set the date and time. I ended up taking it to Walmart where they sell Casio and a rep in jewelry set it for me.- digital display is TINY!- backlight for digital display is a bit too dim

Light is worthless. easy to set up, but in the window. should be the day date, but that is not available. on any setting, other things are. Not happy.

NEAT WATCH. A LITTLE BIT HARD TO FIGURE OUT AT FIRST. I THINK THE BATTERY NEEDS TO JUST CHARGE UP A LITTLE BIT. VERY INTERESTING IS WHEN THE CLOCK ARMS ROTATE BACKWARDS WHEN YOU SET THE POSITIONAL GPS TIME. IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH G-SHOCK SOLAR WATCHES THIS IS VERY SIMILAR IN FUNCTIONS AND USE. THE MODE SETTINGS ARE A BIT DIFFERENT AND A LITTLE BIT TRICKY AT FIRST, BUT I TRULY THINK THATS BECAUSE THE BATTERY NEEDS TO JUST CHARGE UP TO A CERTAIN LEVEL BEFORE ONE TRIES TO INTERACT IN ALL THE FULL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLOCKS USES. THANKS . I AM PUTTING THIS WATCH AS A STAND BY WITH MY FIRST AID KIT. DUE TO ITS SOLAR FUNCTION. OH BY THE WAY THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT HAVE A SECONDS CLOCK ARM, BUT A CLEAR DIGITAL READ OUT OF THE SECONDS FUNCTION.

The only thing that glows are the hands. The white marks around the dial do not glow. For $23, I like it. If I had to pay more than this I would have went down to three stars.

Great, durable watch. I’m an emt and it fits the role of daily wear/abuse. Only negative was that it took about two days to get it to come on. Came completely dead.

Couldn't get the analog time set properly. Easily returned for refund.
