Great Value, Ease of Use, Sturdy Construction with a Professional Look!
Love this! I am in sales, and this clever tool makes my day so easy. No more looking for my keys or worrying about losing them. The disk clips onto my belt or jacket pocket easily. The key is attached to a retracted wire cord by a keyring. I have quick and secure access to my key! It is a sturdy construction with a professional look at a moderate price.

Good quality, fair price
Second set I've ordered, they work well and last a decent amount of time before the cable breaks.

May not last super long, but I still like the product.
I'd like to preface this review with saying that while I rate this product a 4/5, one did have the fiber cord snap within 6 months of purchase. However, I like the product enough that I'm personally willing to not hold that against it.That being said; right up until the fiber cord snapped I really had 0 issues with this product. I specifically bought these because the company provided keyback/badge holder was just ever so slightly not strong enough to hold the weight of my work keys and badge, and the clip on it was constantly becoming loose and falling off of my pocket. It feels nice in the hand, and if the spare one from the box lasts another 6 months or so I'll be pretty pleased with the purchase. They're fairly inexpensive and while I may not buy these specific ones again, I do think it's still a good product. It's hard for me to knock the product when I use my badge at work literally hundreds of times a day to go through tons of doors. I also keep my work keys on this same retractable holder, which I guess could've put some unusual strain on it. For the average person who may only need to use this thing a dozen times a day? I'd imagine it would last a pretty long time. I wish it was a little more robust because I really do like the way it looks. The coating wears off pretty quickly, so I spent some time polishing my spare one to reveal the brass underneath.

Tough and smooth badge reel built to last
Bought the 2-pack and use it daily for work ID and keys in an office and warehouse environment. What I like• All-metal body feels solid and durable• Strong steel wire cord retracts smoothly without snapping• Secure clip and key ring keep everything firmly in placeWhat could be better• A bit heavier than plastic versions• Retracting force may be too strong for lightweight cardsBottom line: A reliable, heavy-duty upgrade from flimsy plastic reels. Perfect for professionals who need secure access all day, but look at lighter models if minimal weight is a priority.

sturdy-looking
Sturdy. Looks like it will last. Like the keychain that comes with it.

Great, but not particularly durable
This functions just fine until you drop it. I've gone through two packs of them and all four of them exploded after a drop of no more than 3 feet onto a tile floor.

Rugged and reliable. Just What I Am Looking For.
I have used an earlier iteration of this product and was generally satisfied. This takes the earlier product and appears to have addressed the weaknesses of that product. I am tough on badge holders. I wear jeans most days and usually stuff the badge into my hip pocket. We upgraded our business practices to require employees to always display their badge. For safety reasons it isn't wise for me to wear it around my neck. I clipped it to my shirt pocket or sometimes to my collar but this approach made the badge an impediment to movement. I tried using a company provided retractable badge reel but they only lasted a few months, sometimes less. The cases were made of plastic and the string was made of nylon. Sometimes the case would split but more likely, the string would wear through. The earlier product featured a metal case and a stainless steel string. That product lasted substantially longer.. The typical point of failure was the stainless steel string breaking at the end, causing the badge to fall off. This usually took about four or five months. I'd disassemble the unit and repair it but it would eventually return. This new item addresses these problems. It remains to be seen if the fixes are substantial but right off the bat the overall construction is more substantial feeling. The string is mounted similarly but the tip appears to be more securely mounted to the retaining ball. There is now a rubber stopper which will prevent the strong shock of the retraction. I imagine that will lessen the risk of breaking the string. The plastic clip used to affix the badge holder to the retractor is laced with a fiber which should prevent the tearing I usually experience. I'll follow up on this in a few months but for now, I'm pleased to see the changes and am hopeful they will make an already good product great.

Flawed Design
I've used these for a while as a security officer and when they work they're good. However there are two issues and the second one is why I'm giving it one star.1. The button wears out after about 4 or 5 months. Eventually your keys will just fall off as it won't have the tightness anymore to stay buttoned. Not a huge deal because you can just use the key ring on them.2. This is why I'm giving it one star. Some absolute genius cheaped out on the screw. There's one screw holding this all together. If this screw gets even slightly lose it WILL come apart and it is a NIGHTMARE to try and reassemble. The reason is the designer cheaped out on the screw. When reassembling it the screw is JUST slightly too short to make contact with the threading. If I take the clip off it makes contact and will tighten. But opening is larger than the screw head so it passes through and the thing falls apart. All this hassle could have be avoided if the designer had not been cheap and just made the screw a millimeter longer. Heck, even HALF a millimeter and I could easily reassemble this thing. I put my entire bodyweight down to try and force contact and even then it didn't work. I don't know what Blackmagic they're using to get this thing together but I can only surmise it was either them being incredibly cheap, or most likely it was done so once it came undone you wouldn't be able to put it back together without either knowing what technique pr tool they used to assemble it and thus are forced to buy a new one. For this reason I have to give one star. Absolute joke.
