Increase my speed by 10-20mbps
I, like many, am now working from home in a makeshift home office. This involves internet virtual meetings regularly on top of any pre existing internet demand in the house (TV/streaming/phones/Sonos system etc).Whilst not 'poor' my wifi signal in the office was at best reaching 40.4mbps, sometimes as low as 25mbps (with an average of 32mbps). I therefore wanted to improve my internet speed to the computer and make it 'immune' to other wifi demands. Also ethernet connections are more stable - so I am less likely to 'cut out' in the middle of a meeting due to wifi fluctuations.I therefore (after lots of research) went for the Devlo Lan 550+ kit - as I wanted 2 ethernet ports in the office. One for the computer, one for the Sonos/Ikea Symphonisk lamp. People go for the 1200 and 2400 untis - but you need to look at your internet connection speed. If like me you have 50mbps coming in - 550 is far above this! Having 1200+ would serve me no benefit. The unit came, was simple to install (plug in, press pair button - ready!) and has consistently brought my speed up to an average of 50.2mbps. Considering I have a 50mbps BT Fibre package - this is a good result indeed. I ran multiple broadband speed tests (Ofcom), in different locations and at different times to validate the results.I can conclusively say that by switching from wifi in my home office to ethernet via the Devolo LAN 550+ I have gained between 10-20mbps increase in internet speed. Objectively, consistently and validated via repeat testing.

Wish I'd bought these sooner.
Wifi at home isn't great, this solution sending the signal via power cables boosted my download speed from 3.7Mb to 43.9Mb instantly. It is exactly what they say. Stick a cable into one plug. Plug cable into your router and plug into power socket. Stick the other cable in the other plug. Plug into power socket. Plug cable into other computer. Press button on both plugs and wait for the white light to come on steady on both. That's it.The only complicated thing is adjusting your computer via the control panel to take the feed from the cable and not the wifi any more, but even that is just finding the right bit in your control panel and ticking a box.Only other note is the box doesn't mention windows 10 compatibility. Don't worry, it is.So impressed that I instantly went and ordered a second set for use in other rooms.Total bargain worth having, particularly at the sale price Amazon had at the time of purchase in February 2023.

Weren't suitable but that may have been due to my wiring.
I plugged in the one next to the router and made sure it was directly in the socket not in an extension block, however this was a double socket and I had an extension plugged into the one next to it. Similar story at the other end. Pressed the connect buttons and would not connect. I unplugged the extension leads and tried again and they connected. I had to plug in the extension after this to operate my TV etc and it seemed OK. Testing I saw the speed was about 3/4 of what I was getting with WiFi but the reason I'd bought them was because the WiFi signal was unreliable. However day or so later I was discovering that there was no internet connection at the second unit and it appeared that the Internet connection was connecting and disconnecting randomly. I don;t know whether this was due to my wiring, having other things plugged into the neighbouring socket or because the units were faulty. I returned them and have gone back to WiFi which although unreliable is far more reliable than with these units!

Slower than expected
We have a router in the downstairs front room and we have an XBOX S in the upstairs front roomRouter is ISP Virgin Media Business UK Prep New Hitron Chita RouterWhen we place XBOX S adjacent to Router and connect with Ethanet cable we get download speeds of 400MBPS which is very goodWhen we place XBOX S in the upstairs room and connect via WIFI we get download speeds of 220MBPS which is also goodWhen we connect downstairs to upstairs via the Devolo Dlan 550 Duo+ Powerline IE We place 1 Lan Port plugged into a socket in the downstairs front room and then connect to the Router with Ethanet cable PLUS the 2nd Lan Port plugged into a socket in the upstairs front room and then connect to the XBOX S with Ethanet cable we get download speeds of 30MBPSWe expected the speed via the Devolo Dlan 550 Duo+ Powerline to be significnalty better than this ..... Any ideas????

Hamstrung by the 100mbit ports
What's the point of these units talking at a potential 500 mbit to each other if the ports are only Fast Ethernet (ie, 100 mbit).I get that Powerline adapters are never going to reach their theoretical maximums due to infinite variables in a electrical system not designed for digital data transmission, but why do I want these over my existing old Devolo 200 mbit ones I were going to replace? The Devolo utility shows these units do connect over the electric network at just over 400 mbit, so I don't get the extra 300mbit of bandwidth. Crazy! If you need more speeds than a 200mbit unit, go for the 1200 Devolos, or elsewhere.Design of them are nice, plain and simple, but the ports are oriented to the top - great if your wall sockets are at/near the floor. Not so great if your sockets are higher up and your gear are below it. Also due to the bulk of the package being higher than the socket, it becomes somewhat top-heavy once you add on a bulky AC/DC transformer for your modem, router, etc etc., it starts to pull away from the socket.I've sent these back and got the Solwise 1200AV2 units as they were much cheaper than Devolo's 1200AV units, better build that means the Solwise stays in the sockets and ports facing to the floor and getting over 400 mbit speeds on file transfers across my network.
