This Heavy Duty steering box bracket fits - Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 vehicles with power steering. The stock stamped steel steering box mounts are not up to the task of holding the steering box in place. Even when you add a Steering Box Brace (see below), big tires, locking differentials and big rocks can cause the stock mounts to be torn off the frame. Made from 1/2” and 3/8” thick steel. Sold bare steel, or zinc plated gold. All mounting hardware included.

Nice upgrade but you’ll need to buy 3 extra bolts 1/2” longer
Overall an excellent upgrade for my 1980 CJ7 but the issue was 3 of the 4 bolts that mount to the steering box were too short and I had to buy 3 additional zinc bolts which were 1/2 longer. I’d say my steering tightened up roughly 20% and felt safer at higher speeds with less death wobble. Also, no more clanking when making turns at slow speeds with the OEM bracket. Overall very satisfied.

A perfect fit for my 1981 CJ7
This mount made a real difference in the way my Jeep handles, especially over rough roads and at freeway speeds. I opted to drill the additional two holes in order to use the extra bolts for the added strength. It was a simple process of following the provided instructions. All the fasteners were the correct sizes and lengths, so I didn't need to purchase anything except a can of spray paint.

Holes in frame aligned properly, but the ones under the winch plate didn't. Took some work.
