Whole Earth Farms Grain Free Dry Dog Food Weight Management Recipe

I feed my dogs (2 yr old basset/beagle and 5 yr old beagle) a rotation diet and this food stays in rotation. It features a grain free recipe with reduced fat and calories, but still contains quality protein and chelated minerals & vitamins. Both of my dogs are breeds that are predisposed to obesity, and the beagle was adopted within the past year and is obese. This food helps them both feel full without wasteful calories. It has good reviews on popular dog food review sites and is still made in the USA. My dogs both had firm, regular stools. usually add a bit of warm water to soften it up a bit has my newly adopted beagle also has some dental issues and my basset/beagle prefers it softer as well, but they both will also eat it completely dry. This food is less expensive than many other grain free foods, but is still a quality dry kibble that I feel good feeding to my fur-babies. The only negative to me is that the first ingredient is chicken meal, instead of chicken. It should be noted, though, that fresh chicken loses quite a bit of weight when cooked and that chicken meal contains 300% more protein than fresh chicken, so it's not all bad.

A while back I went on the hunt for a new dog food. What I'd been using was fine, but I really wanted to give my dog something more premium in quality and preferably without the risk of problems with ingredients sourced from China. I've just seen too many news stories about dangers and recalls when it comes to pet foods that include ingredients made in China, and it's enough to make me paranoid. After researching probably a hundred really expensive dog food options, I came across the Whole Earth Farms line.This dog food doesn't include any ingredients from China, it's grain-free, and it doesn't include any byproduct meal, which has been shown to be a pretty questionable ingredient. Best of all, though, it's much more affordable than comparable brands, and Amazon Prime delivers it to me right at the office, so I don't have to detour by the pet supply store on my way home from work. And my dog absolutely loves it! So glad I found a super-high quality food for my dog that doesn't totally break the bank.UPDATE: Before switching to this Healthy Weight dog food, my dog fell solidly into the obese category. She didn't look like an over-inflated balloon, but she certainly didn't look as fit as most of her breed. And since we were moving into a new apartment with a pet weight limit... My dog was too old and arthritic to excercise much, and the summer heat was too much for both of us. And of course, she's too spoiled to skip a few bites of whatever I'm eating, so it's safe to say we didn't really have much of a weight loss regimen. However, sticking to this dog food still managed to make a huge difference, and after a loss of more than 10 pounds in 7 months, she's now squarely in the overweight category --definitely healthier than obese!

My Pekingese started getting grouchy, irritable, snapping and eating poop. I noticed picking her up she was getting Super skinny, and I could feel her ribs. We have another dog and they ate the same food. I keep it out, for as needed grazing, so I hadn’t seen she was on a food strike and not eating. She was food aggressive with anything dropped on the floor, etc. They were on this grain free brand but the fish one. Tried this for her, and Wow- she loved it, started eating again, dropped the attitude, filled back out to happy weight and is back to her chipper snuggly wacky self. She’s still a jerk when a cat walk so within 5 feet of “her” stolen shoes she steals from us or toys- but that’s a personality flaw! Thrilled to be poop- free! And yes, she can lick us with that mouth now!

Our 10 year old labrador has a thyroid condition she has medication for and we got a expensive recommendation for diet food that still didn't really help her lose weight. We've tried different weight management food in different brands and still the only thing keeping her from gaining weight was the meds, the food wasn't helping her lose it. Then I found this one and enthusiastically ordered it because of the lack of grain fillers. After a few months of this food she's lost over 10 pounds and is moving around again like a younger dog. And she loves the taste, she hasn't started to snub it like she's done with so many others.

Best grain free low calorie dry I've come across so far for my 3 very different needs pups!All rescues, one is pushing 14, had a lot of rough experiences, including a couple of full plate fractures to his pallet and teeth before he came to me. He can barely chew, but adding fresh cooked chicken each meal, along with softening the dry with chicken broth gets home all the nutrition he needs! He's gone from an emaciated, frightened eater to a happy diner twice a day!His sister's have been in the pack for 8 and 6 years respectively. They love the switch to the new dry (they also get fresh cooked meat with every meal), and the eldest is perfect weight and her muscles and coat look amazing!! The youngest has challenges with grain. Any time she got a grain based diet, her coat would dull, and she'd develop terrible hot spots that she'd chew on, particularity on her back end. Once we got her onto whole Earth farms, her demeanor completely changed! Her coat cleared up, her eyes got bright again, she had tons of energy and she was back to my happy girl.I stand by their products 100 %😊.BTW, these dogs aren't small either. Sampson weighs in at 85lb, Daisy at 79lb, and Fiona at 82lb..... All right within their ideal weight range!

Whole Earth Farms Grain Free Healthy Weight Dry Dog Food helped my foster dog lose 13.1 pounds. He was a senior, male beagle whose elderly owner had passed away. He was 49.9 lbs when he arrived at my home, and had been eating cheap, poor quality dry dog food. He shed eight pounds in the three months he was in my foster care, down to 42 lbs. The adopter said they would continue his diet, and later updated me that he was down to 36.8 lbs. A beagle's ideal weight (depending on breed size, 13" vs. 15", etc.) is, at maximum, 35 lbs. My lab loved the kibble, but t then he lives all food. Smallish bag for price.
