I was a little apprehensive about buying one of these due to some negative reviews - so much so I ordered just one instead of a pack of four as originally intended. However my experience has been pretty good so far.Very easy to set up and works perfectly with Google Home.As others have said, three new switches appear on your smart home network: one for each port and one for both. The USB sockets are permanently on.One thing that needs noting are the physical switches that turn the sockets on and off. These are not toggle switches as usual. They look like normal, but act more like regular buttons. Also, it doesn't matter what state you've left the sockets in (on or off), you can still control them via the app or manually.A couple of minor criticisms. One would be the provided screws. These are terrible and actually ruined the thread in the wall box. Don't use them. The second would be the green light that seems to be permanently on. Not a problem where I've fitted it, but there's no way I could have one of these in a bedroom. At least not without sticking a piece of duct tape over it or something.Very happy so far. I'll probably be getting some more.

This is a great device once you get it installed and set up, please remember to fit it with the standard screws from your old socket as the two provided do not fit, also keep the face-plate off until you fit and screw in the socket then clip on the face-plate otherwise you wont manage to screw it into the wall.This socket fits most standard British Standard double socket and adds a couple of useful USB ports too.Both sockets are individually controlled using the Smart Life or eWelink app and both can be turned on or off singularly or as a pair, The switches on the socket are master switches so if you turn them off then you cannot switch on via the app.The USB ports don not have a separate switch.WiFi connection on the device is always on even if the socket's switches are off, so it will use power constantly which may be an issue for some.Once you have the app you have to set up and pair the device, should the light between the two USB sockets not be blinking green showing pair mode, simply hold down both power buttons for approx 5 - 8 seconds and the device will click the power off on and then should start blinking to pair, start pairing in the app and then connect your phone to the device WiFi as shown in my pics, it will have a similar name, then back to the app for the final setup steps.Could be good to use on devices such as irons etc in case when you go out you worry that you never switched it off, you could login to the app and check and switch off if you had forgotten etc so there is that peace of mind with the device too.Overall a great product that should serve you well :)

Update after a year: this has been misbehaving for a few months now, turning itself on and off not responding to commands and today it's completely dead, no power from either socket.I'm just glad I kept the original socket. This is a Poor quality product. AVOID!Fitting and setup was easy, works well with Google. Occasionally if I manually turn a switch on/off it will apply to both sockets which is annoying.

Ordered the Socket to replace an old socket that was playing up. Initially I was looking for new socket with USB Chargers (busy house and lots of phones being charged !!) but selected this one with the additional benefit of the integrated wifi and app.Delivery was very quick, and arrived next day (on Standard delivery), so that was a bonus.I am certainly no expert with electrics, but it was easy to fit in place of the existing socket, so was up and running very quickly. Having a front plate hiding the fixing screws is a nice touch.Had a small bit of confusion enabling the wifi, as the instructions indicated there was a "pairing button", but after a quick read of the other reviews, quickly worked out it was activated by a long press on the 2 x Power buttons. Once activated, I could register it with the App very easily and control the socket from my phone.Main use for the wifi control so far has been to turn on the slow cooker during the day, so dinner is ready when we get home .. a real bonus in a busy house .. and with the kids leaving their electronics plugged in, I now have peace of mind these can be switched off from anywhere.Very pleased with the socket and would recommend .. I can see me investing in more around the house !!

Edit - I contacted the seller after writing the review, and they have agreed to send a replacement plug out. This all happened within a day of the review being published. Very quick service.I’ve absolutely loved this plug, we’ve had it installed for about 4 months but today it’s suddenly stopped working :(

Good product if you have plugs in hard to reach places like the back of the TV but was difficult to fit as tha back is a lot wider than a normal house switch so bare that in mind before purchasing

Having purchased a number of plug in 13 amp wifi controlled 13 amp outlets, largely for lighting, I was getting fed up with clumsy, inconsiderate people braking them (they stick out a fair way) and not telling me till they were needed again and the cost associated with replacing them and trying to find the same product. I therefore opted to try out one of these plugs a simple 5 min replacement job for the 13 am double socket. The sockets works as a normal socket and have 2 x usb charges as well. but they can also be switched on and off by wifi. Instructions somewhat generic and translated. But having installed and tested my paid for sample I immediately have purchased another 8 - need I say more! Great for switching on thematic lighting in our wedding venue at specific times and not more projecting plugs and having to squeeze between guests trying to access a socket. One click and a whole diversity of lighting fixtures, fairly lights etc activated and also can be based on a schedule in case I forget!
