Not bad, not perfect
I know this product probably gets mass produced, and then get labeled under a few names. So I wasn't sure what to expect.Pros:-Charge from solar or usb (green LED lights up)-Can charge other devices via micro usb (Red LED lights up)-Has a USB to Micro USB cable included.-Gives off good light, in either flashlight or lamp mode.-3 settings: on, brighter (slightly), and flash.-Accordion style does allow for directional light.Cons:-Weak handle (mine is already broken)-USB cover flap is wimpy, easily peels back offering little protection.-Accordion style makes some noise and can get crinkled. While it is a smaller/lighter option, anyone into ultralight backpacking may want to skip this one.

Great little light - handle breaks off easily
Got this for our toddler to play with in their fort/tent.Likes: It was a great little light! Nice and bright - pretty perfect. Lasts a long time without having to recharge it. Kid loved it!Dislikes: I thought the accordion part of the light would be the first to rip/break, but it was actually the little handle. We had it hanging on a hook and tugged too hard, and it just snapped off. Wasn't repairable, as it was a clean break. Unfortunately, we can't hang it up anymore or carry it around, but it's still a great light and lasts a long time without having to recharge it. Now, I know it's not made to be kid-proof, but I can imagine using it for camping as an ADULT, and if it breaks off that easily, I'd be mad.

Turns on and off, but wow, are these cheaply made.
It's quite bright when fully charged. However, it gets noticeably dimmer as the battery drains. It isn't the "full voltage then sudden drop-off when depleted" that I'm used to seeing with Li-Ion rechargeables. The handle, as others have noted, is weak. I bought two of these, and one handle is already broken. I might get creative with some medium gauge wire and pliers, and bend it a new handle that won't break. But honestly, I shouldn't have to. The handle joint is a mickey-mouse point of failure that simply should have been designed better. And yes, the rubber charging flap does tend to come un-sealed on its own. So, that needs to be better designed too.I can't help but feel that there must be better implementations of this general idea on the market already, at this price point.

Portable and fuel free lantern
Lantern stayed lit all night. It recharged by the next night. It has 3 settings, although the low light and bright light are not too different. The third setting is a flashing bright light. I have not used the charging cord but will revise when I get a chance.UPDATE: Used my two lanterns on a four day camping trip. The handle has broken off one of them, but was easily replaced with a piece of a wire hanger. The expanding material has some caving in, but I'm sure that is from me or my son pulling it apart to hard and too far. The solar charging capabilities for my phone did not work. I did not try it with the phone turned off, maybe that would have yielded greater results. However, it did charge my external battery, slowly, but it did charge.

Too bright for my eyes
This lantern is so much easier to pack and use than my old AA-battery-powered Coleman tent lantern. It's awesome that you can use it as a flashlight when the lantern is in the "closed" position. It seems to hold a charge for a long time, and I'm SO happy to recharge with a USB cable instead of packing backup batteries!!I only gave it 3 stars because it is TOO BRIGHT for me to use as a lantern. I almost never used it as a lantern because it was so bright I had a hard time seeing what was around it. Maybe if I wore sunglasses? At least in the collapsed state, I can use it as a flashlight and direct it away from my eyes toward whatever I'm looking at.Also, I of course broke the removable handle on Day 3 of using it, but I blame myself there. Got a little impatient when removing it from the tent ceiling. Now it will be a bit harder to use it as a flashlight.I'm on the fence about recommending this product but I still haven't got rid of it. For the price it was great, and it did everything it said it would. Just a little too powerfully!

Amazingly bright, charge lasts forever, can charge phone off of it, its a light AND a lantern, durable and portable... GREAT BUY
Was leery about the quality of these when they first arrived, but let me tell you they have been awesome! My 5 yr old and 11 yr old each got one and they LOVE them and I love the fact that they take ZERO batteries! My 11 yr old is also super excited he can charge his phone from it haha. They are SUPER bright, especially for something solar charged. They have been playing with them for weeks and have not taken them outside and they are still bright. I love they are a flashlight when folded down and a lantern when stretched out. Portable and have a handle. THey are simply awesome!

Excellent purchase!
I bought 2 of these babies for 2 reasons. #1 - centipedes. I'm not talking nice little insects that you find on the mainland - I'm talking nasty, ugly, creepy, pain instigating for days, Hawaiian centipedes. When I get up in the middle of the night to pee, now that I have these handy dandy portable lights, I fear not! Reason #2 for this purchase - hurricanes. The solar powered feature is awesome, and makes this item a hot commodity should the electrical system get knocked out or fail for any reason. Also, they are collapsible and can be used while compressed or stretched out, your choice.

amazing!
amazing value for what i paid. light extends into accordion form very easily. charges either by USB or solar which is awesome and uses micro USB for charging which means you can use other wires you may have around. button easily switches it on and between modes - dim, bright, and flashing bright. the dim isnt all that dim anyway, and the high power beam gives any more light you might need. folded - it has the energy to project the light quite far. extended - all of these work amazing with the extended lamp mode and would be awesome for a tent or small room
