Product Review of FBM3502 Auto-tracking 3.5" LCD Wireless Digital Video Baby Monitor by Foscam Digital Technologies LLC
From the outset it seemed that this Foscam Digital Technologies baby Monitor was no child's-play toy. I have never seen such an outstanding list of features for a simple piece of infant surveillance:Elements such as auto-tracking, monitored pan-tilt, talkback feature, room temperature display, digital wireless technology, digital zoom function and rechargeable battery (3 to 4 hours) make this camera seem like something out of a Tom Cruise spy movie, were it not for the choice of three lullabies and baby feed timer function. We always wonder at the extreme pace of growth in the technology realm, and Foscam is undoubtedly leading the way with this kind of impressive technology. Parents now have never-before-seen levels of relaxation and comfort knowing that their little one is safe and sound. I set-up the camera so that this review would be truly verified, and I was literally blown away at its user-friendly design and its many abilities. What you get in the package:* One camera* One monitor* Two power adapters* Battery for Monitor (3.7V)* Two cable clips* One screw and one wall anchor* User manualThe kind folks over at Foscam were generous enough to provide me with a second auto-tracking camera (included in the $200 price-tag) so that I can accurately test out the ease with which I am able to switch between camera 1 and 2 at any point. Simply see the menu options on the monitor and toggle down to "camera select" to switch between cameras.Truthfully, this technology allows for a further 2 cameras linked, enabling a total of 4 cameras operating simultaneously so that parents are never left in the dark regarding their baby's comfort. And if they are left in the dark, each camera has 8 high-intensity LEDs for picking up clear images in the dark. I tested that out! I turned the lights off in the testing room and low and beyond, the light sensor detected the low ambient light levels and the LEDs (night vision) were automatically activated. Incredible! The temperature sensor is also a convenient addition. If the room heats up or gets too cold from the temperature I set on the monitor screen, then the monitor screen notifies me of such a change. Since when does a camera notify me of temperature changes?! Since Foscam made it possible!I also really love that I can set the monitor to notify me when my baby's tummy is getting empty and I'll be notified neatly on my monitor screen at my desired hourly intervals.I know that with reviews I am supposed to look for negatives or flaws in the product, but thinking like a parent, there simply isn't anything more I could ask for to help me monitor a child. Honestly, this product is a ten out of ten from Foscam, but if parents would like a clearer image of their baby, the step up from this product is the F18910W model that has an embedded IR-Cut filter providing enhanced picture and color quality. That product also allows remote viewing via internet or local network and supports all standard browsers, iPhone, Android, and is Wifi compliant. With this FBM3502 model, everything worked just as the instructions said and even the baby-sitter's job has become way easier now that the baby's feeding time and room temperature are clearly displayed. She can even play a choice of three lullabies or talk to the child without getting off the couch. Well done to Foscam Digital Technologies LLC!Best,Jordi Leigh Levinrad

Average product features, poor product reliability, and poor customer service!!
We bought this item on 11/14/14 after confirming with Foscam that the newer monitors had an automatic scanning feature and that the units on Amazon are the newer units with this feature. We setup the cameras the first day we received them; low and behold, it did not have a scanning feature. There wasn't any indication of this feature in the manuals, so I contacted Foscam customer service. After providing them the serial number, they confirmed the unit I had was an older model without the automatic scanning feature. However, they said they stand behind their products and would replace my monitor once they received the new models. They said their manufacturing facility is in China, and it could take a few months to get the new items to their distribution center. At the time, my son had just been born, so knew I had enough time to wait for the new model before I really needed the scanning feature. It is now 4 months later and I have not heard a response from Foscam to two status update requests in the last 3 weeks. On top of all that, the monitor I have has started having issues charging the battery. I can only use the monitor if it is plugged in and the plug positioned in a very delicate way. So not only does Foscam have poor customer service, but the quality of their product is also poor as well. Now that the Amazon window for returns is closed, I need to get a refund from Foscam or fight the charge on my credit card. What a headache..Otherwise, I would have given the product 3 stars. The scan, tilt, and zoom features are nice. The auto-track feature doesn't work well if there is a ceiling fan in view of the camera (it just gets fixed on the fan instead of a person in the room). The intercom is OK; the audio is not great and there is a lag in between releasing the button and being able to hear what the other person is saying on the other end. Most times, it comes in mid sentence.

This is pretty good. However
This is pretty good. However, I'm not sure if it's the parent unit or the cameras, bit we cannot talk to our children. All they hear is a bunch of static which freaks them out.The volume button and the lullaby button are right next to each other, which I believe is a major design flaw, especially if you don't use the lullaby setting. And the lullabies are nice, but they play on a very short loop which starts over very abruptly. So, there are at least two features which we don't use because they don't work as they should.Otherwise it's nice. Easy to mount. We have two cameras and if we travel we take one with us.Great scope, pretty good picture. Not sure if the temp readings are correct but it helps keep track if the temp is constant.

Started great, ended up disappointed
I loved this monitor when I got it. The picture quality was great, the sound was great. It was super easy to set up and had a ton of features. After about two months, the handheld monitor was finicky about charging, after three months, it stopped charging altogether. I purchased a new cord, but the problem was with the actual monitor or charging port. I really loved this monitor but don't want to buy again for fear will have the same problem.
