Completely exceeded my low expectations. Believe the hype.
I originally intended to purchase a Dayton Ulitimax 18 but at the time, however it wasn't in my budget so I was in search of a temporary sub. I picked this sub because out of all the "Bargin Basement"/ "Pawn Shop" brands, this one seemed to be the most robust built and most expensive compared to the others so I figured a bit of effort went into it's design yet in the back of my mind I figured I still was getting junk. Also reading all the hyped reviews somewhat peaked my interest so I gave it a shot yet remained skeptical. After connecting the (HEAVY) sub and putting it through some extensive testing, I can say without a doubt this is the best bang for buck your ever going to get out of an 18 inch subwoofer. I have it loaded in a 7.0 cuft ported enclosure tuned to 20hz, powered by a Yamaha P7000S power amp(bridged) in a HOME THEATER environment. First I played some music for a nice break in. It added really good bottom end to the music as expected. Not very muddy considering the fact that it's an 18. However music is not what I purchased this thing for, movies are. I read a review where someone mentioned how it doesn't play very low so I put it to the test. I played various reference audio movie scenes (JP DTS Laserdisc (T-Rex), Star Wars Episode I Laserdisc (Pod race scene), BHD (Irene), HTTYD (final battle scene), FOTP (crash scene), WOTW ( pod emergence scene), Game of Thrones (S2-E9 Blackwater boat scene), and many more. It's safe to say that the guy more than likely didn't know what he was doing because it handled these scenes better than anything i've ever seen. It digs REALLY LOW, so much to the point where I had to cut it down because my ears started ringing on more than one occasion. This sub outperforms big brand name subs i've owned 2-4 times it's price. Is it the best sub I'll ever hear? Probably not, but you better believe it is the best $173.19 I've EVER spent. Honestly I'm not even sure if I still want to get the Dayton anymore, that's how good this thing sounds and ITS A PA SUB! I'm using it for something It was never intended for yet it performs so well. If your in the market for an 18inch subwoofer for PA or even HT at a bargain price, THIS IS YOUR SUB! Now stop reading the reviews and buy it!

Aggressive, Dependable, Hard Hitting
I bought this to fill in the low ends on a home sound setup. Powered by a Behringer INuke6000 (6000 watt amp and true to power - 3000w of that going solely to this sub), and paired with an all-in-one speaker tower of equal wattage (4 tweeters, horn, 2 12" subs), this has exceeded expectations ESPECIALLY when considering the price. I've been blasting this thing for over half a decade now with no noticeable change in quality. I also never had a crossover on it, so the highs and mids bled through it really bad - just awful for the health of a subwoofer. I'm surprised it's lived through years of that at high volume. I have peaked out the volume to where the bass was totally clipped and sounded as if the sub was flapping (a few times), though that was only after the red lights were popping off on the amp. Even still, it continued on fine after a slight decrease in volume. I finally put one in and I'm even more blown away by it now than when I first turned it on. To put in perspective, it filled a 10,000+ sq ft warehouse full of full-bodied sound that made machines rattle. Made stuff fall off shelves in the next room while in my house, could hear outside the house from hundreds of feet away. Now living in an apartment and I refrain from letting it reach quarter volume for more than a few minutes, even at 2pm midweek. If you're looking to replace sub for a professional setup, I can't say for sure how this will hang with the big boys in sound quality. But it can take a beating both physically and through power/volume.

stromng speaker but does not hit the super low notes
they look great and seem like the 750 watt rating is correct. However, do not get these if you expect to go below 35hz. i am not a tech and i do not have any test gear but i did a side by side with 2 other 18 subs i got from bag end. i own 4 bag end cabs and my amps are all inuke6000. the seismic goes loud but it doesn't go as low as the bag end. one more thing. all 4 boxes have the same processor and amp. so i think this is a honest side by side. i am going to use these in a double concert sub box as soon as i make one. The bag end replacvement 18's are available but they are 375 each. I am happy with them but i do wish they would go lower. i guess that is the differance between a 160$ speaker and a 375$ one.

Not really what I thought it was
Well I bought this sub a couple years ago and upon hearing it play by itself, I thought this was the greatest subwoofer I'd ever heard. Once I got another subwoofer (of lesser power handling) in my other box I change my opinion of this "subwoofer". After locating the Thiele-Small parameters for the New Madrid I found out that the FS(Resonant Frequency) was 48hz, pretty high for a subwoofer. When playing the New Madrid along with the other 18 I realize that the New Madrid struggles to hit the low frequencies that the other does. Standing infront of the New Madrid(750w-1500w) and the Fane 18(200w-400w) is like night and day. That being said, the good thing about this sub is it's power handling and strength. It has a really high BL which shows me it can take what it says it can and maybe a bit more. But to really hear this speaker play low frequencies, you've gotta crank the volume up as much as you can and I don't believe you should have to do that with a subwoofer. This is more like a low mid-woofer
