I purchased these for my wife as she wanted something that would help her grab some hot stuff off the stove without being burned. We have some oven mitts but they were ok.I ordered these and they came quickly and my wife found them appealing though she did mention that the heat resistance lasted less than 1 minute depending on the temperature.Well, fire proof these are not and that is not the purpose of these gloves.If you want heat protection when you grab something hot for a short while, then these work well but keep in mind not on an open flame. They are heat resistant not fire proof.The fit is a bit small even though they are 1 size fits all. The fingers were big for my wife and tight for me even though my fingers are not thick. If you have a large hand then you probably want a different size if available.I would recommend for the price.

Overall, these gloves work. I will say that the other day, I was cleaning my steel rod grilling grate. I had the burners on to heat up everything and went to scrape it with my grill brush. I picked up the grate with the gloves and i was just inspecting the bottom of it. I was holding on to the grates for about 15-20 seconds before i had to put it down because of the heat. So you can grab grates and probably logs in a fire pit with these but keep in mind, anything longer than 15-20 seconds and your hands will start to feel the heat. For the price, you cant beat it and it sufficient for what im looking to do.

Received the gloves quickly, but I have yet to put them to real use. I have rather small hands and the fit was perfect. They are very flexible and I tested them by picking up a very thin ink pen and writing a short sentence. They appear to be well made and I really appreciate the gripping strips on both sides so you don't have to worry about which hand to put them on (can be used either way). Would have been a five star if I had used them for any real grilling.

This was really good buy. I have priced heat resistance gloves and this was the best price I could find. It serves its purpose. It is heat resistant. My mother is a small bussiness owner and uses this for taking very hot pots off of the burners. The only downside to this is they are XL, so they are for large hads. Womens hands will fit but will unlikely be able to do anthying that requires your fingers to move because they are big.

I actually bought these for my husband as a random gift. I wanted to show him some thanks for taking care of me and our LO. Decided to get him something that you can use for fun with the grill.This item is GREAT and just perfect for those grill cookers! My husband loves using this whenever we have guests and/or parties so that he can show them how great they are. I've even used them for some of my oven cooking. It really protects that hands and perfect for using the tongs over the flame! I will def. be purchasing this item for my father in law and dad this holiday!

I bought these hoping to get something that would protect my hands from hot cookie sheets long enough to walk across the room; sadly they don't work any better than any others I've tried, but the description does clearly warn that they don't protect against heat for prolonged periods. But the size is good for both my husband and myself, the extra length on the wrists gives me greater confidence reaching into the oven, and you can't beat the price!

I bought these as they were recommended for smokers. These are awesome for grabbing stuff that is hot. I normally use these when doing everything that isn't touching the food. Grabbing stuff out of the oven, grabbing hot trays, grabbing my the side of the smoker, etc, however being that they are cloth gloves I dont really like dealing with touching the meat with them. I got some rubber ones for that. IF you are starting, I would just let it be known, that is the downside of these.

I was a little skeptic about the gloves, but had to try. Yes they do work, no heat comes through. I held a 400 degree casserole dish, and a 400 degree cast iron for about 8 seconds, and felt nothing. The point isn't to hold your hot dinner for an hour, the point is to transfer the hot pot/pan/dish/iron from the stove to the counter top; which only takes 5 seconds at most. These work absolutely perfectly as everyone says. I have no regrets at all, i'm very happy with the purchase.
